Open in a Background Tab

  • Vivaldi 1.0.219.53 (Developer Build) (64-bit) Revision 656b8563c6cead38bd43ec7942afb440d02ca1cb OS Mac OS X Please include an option to open a link in a Background Tab. For instance, whilst reading an article on a webpage, we come across a link. We wish to peruse that link, but have not finished reading the present article. Therefore we wish to open that link in the background, so that it does not steal the focus and disturb our present activity. Thank you.

  • Middle button, CTRL/CMD+Left click, contextual menu, and a lot of extensions to tweak that behavior.

    Seem enough to me.

Can't remember if build 1.0.219 has the context menu which includes "open in background tab." Certainly, the latest build, 1.0.303.22 has it in context menu, giving you two ways to open new tab in background. Get it here: https://vivaldi.net/

  • I think the point is that we would like a preference to change this to the default behavior.
