If I leave the password box blank and select 'Continue', then 'Proceed without a separate password', it just returns me to the password enter screen.
If I enter a new password that is more than 12 characters (including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and either with or without special character,) trying to click 'Continue' does nothing.
      So I cannot proceed.
This happens on two devices, running Android 7 and 10.
I have just installed Vivaldi on these devices and never used it before. I have never tried to sync or set encryption password before.

        I tried that, thanks.
Nothing I enter will allow me to continue.

I cured it by uninstalling and reinstalling on both devices.
Possibly I could have cleared data but I didn't try that. Clearing cache didn't help.
I see that there are several complaints about this in reviews of the previous version on Play Store, so it looks as if it's something that affects certain devices. Both mine are affected: Asus P00C tablet with Android 7.0 and Motorola One phone with Android 10.
