ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID on login.vivaldi.net without "Proceed to [link] (unsafe)" option; over version 2.11.1811.52 (Stable - 32-bit) on Windows 7
-
Hello,
I didn't find a workaround or override how-to in the forum cloud. Some help?
I got a classic error ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID on https://login.vivaldi.net
but without the option "Proceed to [link] (unsafe)".Using version 2.11.1811.52 (Stable - 32-bit) over Windows 7 (32 bits).
P.S. The problem does not occur in other browsers like Firefox. , I.E.-8 or Edge.

If you click the red certificate icon, what does the certificate say? Is it a vivaldi certificate or something else? What is the error message.
-
Is the time on your computer correct?

Hello everybody, thanks in advance for reply. Let's see...
@Gwen-Dragon,
- its a Windows 7 (32bits) without Firewall, Antivirus or Proxy configuration.
- before trigger the topic, a new fresh installation on standalone mode without extensions was tried.
- normal profile used.
- shows an invalid certificate, cannot be check authority (GlobalSign).
- a classic NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID but without the option "Proceed to [link] (unsafe)" after Advaced button click.
- yep, the time is correct.

- All GlobalSign Root Certificates already removed and re-installed on Windows repository, without success.
- I will try update the thread with some detailed prints (I'm in other machine now).
While not... some other suggestion?

In that thread, they were running third-party software (OpenDNS), and they understood and solved the issue themselves. All GlobalSign Root Certificates already removed and re-installed on Windows repository, without success.
How exactly did you do this? And why? Did you find an article on the internet telling you to?
I suspect you've mistakenly removed the Globalsign ROOT CA certificates and replaced them with wrong ones (or in the wrong category)...
Does it work in other browsers? Internet Explorer (Win7 I assume has no Edge?), Chrome, Opera?
And more importantly, does it still work in Firefox?Does it work on vivaldi.com and vivaldi.net? These use Cloudflare, and not Globalsign.
We need to see screenshots of the actual certificate:
- Click the broken padlock as you've done above, click Certification Path.
- Click the top certificate (GlobalSign).
- Do a screenshot (Alt+PrintScreen) and paste here.
- Click View Certificate, then Details.
- Expand the "value" column to the right so the full serial number and dates are visible.
- Do a screenshot (Alt+PrintScreen) and paste here.
Your screenshots should look like this:

Hi @Pathduck! Thanks for help.
- Yes, was solved! The system itself had no proxy and no static DNS but was connected under a foreign rooter (beyond access).
- Opera and Chrome was givin same error as Vivaldi, without "proceed" option.
- No problem on Firefox, IE-8 and MS Edge (Win 7 has).
- It was intalled the "Cisco Umbrella Root CA" and reinstalled all "GlobalSign Root CA".
- After solved, the machine was changed to other rooter, just for shure.
Here is the prints asked.
