Wait, so technically, version 2.12 was a "snapshot only" version?
Yes, the same as 1.16.

I don't know why, but I have a browser hanging out with me.
May be a extension issue. I had this with some u|ad-block extensions in the past.

If the mouse activates the pip window, you can use the arrow keys to fast forward
or rewind
will be better. Sometimes I want to skip certain positions of the video, so it would be better if I could use the arrow keys to fast forward and rewind

Is this new to the current Snapshot? I didn't notice it before, but surely Vivaldi should not be blocking Ecosia?
-
Any news for future updates on panels?
-
@Pesala Well, the lists are from 3rd parties. And if they decide to block Ecosia for whatever reason...
(An Opt-In "whitelist for Vivaldi Browser support" may be present)
-
@Hadden89 Perhaps Vivaldi should include some trusted sites in the exceptions list?
-
ver 3.0, does that mean the eMail Client M3 will be included soon?
-
What is the difference between easylist and peter lowe list?
should I enable them both?
-
@Pesala //EDIT: An exception seems a good compromise.
@peefy Pete Lowe list is more aggressive than easy list. But tend to break some sites if you don't keep the ublock unbreak list too.
Lists are matter of preferences. Most of the times, easylist only is fine.
Usually are "merged" so duplicates shouldn't be a problem.
Too much lists are usually not a good idea to avoid broken sites and keep good performance.
-
@Hadden89 That's what I suggested. Add Ecosia to the trusted Exceptions list. If Ecosia is still a partner and installed with Vivaldi, then it seems wrong to block it. I submitted a bug so the devs can decide about this.
(VB-65790) Default Ad-blocking Blocks Ecosia

@Pesala /EDIT: I forgot the existence of exceptions

After this announcement I certainly get a feeling that the new Edge browser is slowly getting more interesting featurewise, I'm afraid to say so.
I've come to the conclusion that the possibility to install PWAs for sites I use very often for me is quite a smarter move than webpanels. And collections outperforms the note feature for me. Although I don't use both of them very often.
On the other hand, security and privacy features were a wagon, that Vivaldi jumps on only very lately. Firefox and Brave were there quite earlier.
So for me, it leaves tab-tiling and themes as something unique and outstanding in Vivaldi. As maybe the possibility to take snapshots.I don't know where that all leaves me for the future.
-
@HealingCross PWAs (which I don't use), webpanels and notes still need some love.
Edge collection feature is nice; the problem with Vivaldi Notes is that markdown is confusing for "common users" (is quite geeky).
Firefox hasn't an adblocker and Brave one is not customizable (plus the scriptblocker is too much aggressive).
Edge only block (some) trackers.
I think Vivaldi is reaching the wagon, miles after miles. You forgot UI customization, behaviours included.
Ok, also Firefox allow that but is a huge pain with their constant (and often inexplicable) UI changes and vendor specific selectors.Oh, and the mouse gestures.
And vertical tabs (Using sidebar API wouldn't be the same).
-
If you set a custom solid color for start page and switch to another tab and go back to speed dial it flashes the background with a light color and then it shows the selected custom color

I don't like M$ actually very much. So I'm not quite happy with Edge. Still Firefox would be my second choice and you're right, they have no adblocking initially, but they were very early with implementing tracking protection.
-
@HealingCross In case you were not aware, there is a way to enable PWAs in Vivaldi; you can do so from
vivaldi://experiments
.

@Gwen-Dragon Thanks. I'll check it out. And I hope if it's related, they'll correct that mistake quickly.
-
@peefy: M3 is coming soon, but not as part of 3.0.
