VB-65696 Webswing applications are not captured properly
-
The issue is the same if, for example, I try to take a screenshot with the internal screenshot tool.
-
The opened tab is the one I left un-deleted.
You can see that the thumbnail shown above, does not match at all the viewed website.
Black all around with a white square in the middle (i.e. a login box) vs an example of a UI with a task in progress. The same thing happens when I take a screenshot (it's the same as the thumbnail)

Unfortunately, no
I know how weird it is, but I cannot do anything more than raise this to your attention

@Gwen-Dragon said in Webswing applications are not captured properly:
carefully and report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.
I would; but since I cannot give you replication instructions or environment, it sounds like an exercise in futility
It did sound though something someone might circulate in internal channels, like:User here https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/45503/webswing-applications-are-not-captured-properly reports issues with Webswing, but he's not giving us a demo environment. Do we have something / Have we heard something like that before?
- How to report a bug for Vivaldi
The suggested tool is also a bit annoying, since I cannot paste screenshots
@Catweazle said in Webswing applications are not captured properly:
@stdedos , while this bug is fixed, if you need to take a screenshot, use ShareX.
Yes, this is from where this screenshot is coming
It's a bit weird though - with normal Google Chrome, ShareX can immediately identify the browser's viewport (in multi-selection mode); whereas with Vivaldi it cannot. -

I would like to say "OMG! Users like you gives us testers a bad hair day" No… just joking.
Yes, I am a tester too
Knock yourself out.Well, I did try as much as I could. But I won't build or find an external application for you either
So your are spellbound to Wait until Godot helps you.
I am already spellbound. I am using Google Chrome, Vivaldi, and Brave. I want to use the godchild of Vivaldi and Brave - with some "stability" improvements from Google Chrome.
(And also proper changelog entries when I update Vivaldi from
apt-get
) -
@stdedos would it be possible to contact webswing support see if they can help you? Once the test case is clear on their side, they can also contact us giving us more input about the issue.
Lastly if you contact us via this form: Vivaldi.com/contact you can share more insights maybe?
Only Vivaldi’s support team has access to what people write there. -

Okay, I have sent them a message. Let's see their side on this.
Lastly if you contact us via this form: Vivaldi.com/contact you can share more insights maybe?
I am sorry, I don't understand the question ...
Only Vivaldi’s support team has access to what people write there.
... nor how does that statement fit.

From my e-mail:
Hi Stavros,
I can reproduce the issue with our demo examples. You can suggest the vivaldi team to download Webswing from our website and start the server locally. They should be able to reproduce.
Thanks
Best Regards
