In today’s snapshot we provide support for advertisement blocking in addition to our previously announced tracker blocking.

            everyone: plz?
            vivaldi: ok, done.
            🙂
            Now on with testing

              @olli No you're not 😉

Ad-blocking sure is an interesting new feature. I assume "Manage Blocker Rule Sources" will be coming, as it's not activated at the moment?

[Media][Popout Video] Rewrite picture-in-picture and add a setting to disable (VB-63456)
              Thank you, finally! 👍 👏 🎆

@honyme It works here. I assume you've been hit with the [Extensions][Regression] Various extensions are not working (VB-64275). Disable extensions until it works again.

              > BTW, today I cannot connect to mozdev.org, would you know why?
Maybe that big lizard escaped and ate the server admins? :-)

This is awesome! But it would be great if it can support custom filters and element pickers for those pesky popups that just won't go away (the intrusive ones assuming the built-in blocker didn't work on some elements and whatnot). I could always go back to uBlock or something but having a native implementation is the way to go.

@pathduck: I have the same extension in Vilvaldi snapshots and stable version.
It's good for the stable version. I have try in private without extension.

In fresh install Twitter work. 😕 After sync my accound KO

I had the twitter issue, and just saw the post to disable extensions, I basically just disabled every plugin confirmed that twitter worked and started re-enabling them, hoping that I'd find the cause... All enabled, still working... odd, wonder if it will keep that way

fast edit: Just restarted the browser and it's busted again... fun!

@electronicboy: yes, I had a similar experience on the previous snapshot, it seems pretty erratic.

                            Thank you 🙂

I very much like the simplicity of the respecitve entry in the settings menu (which, over the time, has become somewhat complex and inhomogeneous... just saying 😉 ). Just three buttons and the exceptions list 👍

Twitter broken, Reddit profile not working... back to previous version again, this is not usable in this stage.
Edit: I managed to isolate the issue to one weirder extension I've been using. Got things under control now by disabling it and I think I will stick to this version.

👍 Vivaldi reinvents itself again and again, again a new function, which is not available in other browsers. 😎

Nice, it's a good start. I hope it can match the uBlock & uMatrix combo (1st for blocking ads and removing elements from page like we used to do with Opera Presto <12.18, 2nd for blocking scripts, frames and CSS from individual sites or in general -allow 1st-party only- for example).

Also I hope you can do something natively as well about the first-party tracking method websites are using to bypass ALL adblockers in Chromium-based browsers, a thing that only Firefox can support due to the API. "Basically what the sites do is disguise an ad-tracking or serving domain by using a first-party domain, e.g. this.example.com."

uBlock Origin for Firefox addresses new first-party tracking method
If you run uBlock Origin, use the Firefox version as it offers better protection

Raymond Hill, the developer: "Why only Firefox? Because Mozilla has created DNS APIs that may be used to expose the CNAME while Google has not. For now, it is not possible to protect against this form of tracking in Google Chrome. Hill writes "Best to assume it can't be fixed on Chromium if it does not support the proper API"."

Oh... this is just... amazing !
That was my only issue with Vivaldi (Android), I hope this internal blocker will be on par with Adguard & co

EDIT : I hope this will land on Android too (I misread the title).
