When I try to open https://store.steampowered.com/app/412020/Metro_Exodus/ or https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/metro-exodus/home I get this https://i.imgur.com/l9eBHP7.png.
First i thought Vivaldi got freezed, but the understood that I can switch to another tab or close the black one. Vivaldi works but the tab behavior is strange.
I tried full uninstall + deleting all the folders + registry entries after Vivaldi and clean install. But still get the same effect on those links.
I'm using Vivaldi 2.11.1811.33 (Stable channel) (64-bit).

it is an issue with vivaldi after the last update. something realated to video popup.
-
@zeleboba Do you happen to have an AMD graphics card? There are some known issues with this, that AMD are looking in to.
-
Yep. I got this after last Vivaldi stable update.
Yes, I have Radeon 5700 XT + driver version 20.2.1. But there is no such behavior on the latest Edge based on Chromium.
Waiting for fix then. Thanks!

I have the exact same issue since the last update.
Also with an RX 5700 XT.What bother me is the fact that before the update and with the same driver, everything was perfectly fine.
No issue whatsoever with Firefox on the other hand. -
@Zian91 , @zeleboba ,
Hi, start Vivaldi with --disable-gpu flag, this should help with the 5700XT problem as mentioned > https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/44083/vivaldi-2-11-improves-pop-out-video/94
This disable GPU acceleration as a workaround until Vivaldi/AMD fix the error.Cheers, mib

Same here with 5700xt lol. Just turned off hardware acceleration in setting/webpages.
-
5500 XT same thing. I've had the latest GPU drivers since right when they were released, this issue only started happening immediately after the last Vivaldi update.

The last Vivaldi update solved the problem

The last Vivaldi update solved the problem
Yup. I had frequent crashes and black window issues with the previous update. Vivaldi was basically unusable for me, used the new Edge for the duration instead, Vivaldi seems fine after this update.
-
Sad, but the last stable Vivaldi build is not good enough. It's usable, but a bit irritating. I have no permament black screens now, but some pages containing video got black blinks. YouTube is affected and some others. But the situation sure got better. Previous build was unusable like Shadess said.
