@Aronand Thanks for the link. After reading it, I have a few questions:
-
The article is from 2018, referring to M71 version of Chrome. Is it still up to date?
-
Also, are the 3 switches mentioned in the article operational for Vivaldi?
chrome.exe --disable-features=PreloadMediaEngagementData,AutoplayIgnoreWebAudio, MediaEngagementBypassAutoplayPolicies.
-
So what actually changed in 2.11.1800.5/80.0.3987.67 regarding auto-play?
-
-
[BUG?] double clicking on a note, doesn't open the web page it was copied from (or does it?)
Anyone confirms?
W10x64, here

@newscpq Yes. It was reported and I confirmed it earlier. In case no one reported it yet, I did.
(VB-62672) Double-click on Note does not Go to Address
-
@rhk No, it's not up-to-date, as the autoplay-policy flag mysteriously no longer exists. It's unclear what that means.
As for what's changing with this build, maybe it's just a couple years later Vivaldi finally actually getting it to work. Previously (and probably still, since Chrome's implementation is pretty basic) people just used the superior extension:

@rseiler: While the flag is gone the feature is still there, not sure why it was removed personally. It has been working for the most part, there were just a few cases where it didn't, like re-opening a tab, and opening a bookmarked page.
-
@rhk: I haven't tested the switches myself, but as to what has changed, we basically just fixed a few cases where pages would auto-play without any user interaction.
-
@Aronand Would any of you guys be able to give any insight in how Chromium 80 has changed the way passwords are encrypted in the Login Data file? Tools like Chromepass etc has stopped working with this release. Did you have to make changes in Vivaldi to work around this?
Ref this thread:

@Aronand Thanks for letting me know. I'll test the switches in the coming days and will report the outcome.
