Still unable to stream from Amazon (Prime) Music
-
This has been going on through several releases, going back to Autumn 2019. Current configuration:
2.11.1792.3 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Windows 10 (fully updated)
Tested on 3 different systems (1 Dell Laptop, 1 HP Desktop, 1 Acer Laptop)Tested in my standard user profile, Private Mode, new (default) user profile, and Guest Profile
When I try to play music from Amazon music (https://music.amazon.com), I get <1 second of the song played, then the music stops. My Amazon Prime account is fully active and playing music works on all other browsers tested.
I have tried changing my browser agent, no change.
I'm wondering if others have the same issue and if any of you have found a way to get Amazon Music to work with Vivaldi.

I see this error message in the debugger, looks like a widevine issue:
{__type: "com.amazon.digitalmusiclocator#DrmLicenseDeniedException", DrmType: "WIDEVINE",…} __type: "com.amazon.digitalmusiclocator#DrmLicenseDeniedException" DrmType: "WIDEVINE" denialReason: "VMP_VALIDATION_FAILED" message: "WIDEVINE license denied (DrmLicenseDeniedException VMP_VALIDATION_FAILED) request-id: ec1a3ce6-dc4c-4535-bd47-032ff63c47c3 music-agent: Maestro/1.0 WebCP/1.0.202601.0 (881b-2124-dmcp-b674-8d59f)"

Hello there,
The website requires login to play the video.
Can you reproduce the test case bellow ?
-
Hi, I got the same on:
Vivaldi 2.11.1792.3 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision 586094fa43d5933c498e4a90cf2b11340c6810b0
OS Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit
OS Version 1909 (Build 18363.592)Prime Music start for < 1 sec. then stop.
Prime Video is working.
@lamarca bitmovin video play fine.I tried with Vivaldi stable but Amazon UA sniffer show "Not supported Browser" or something, UA switcher does not work.
Cheers, mib
EDIT: There was a vivaldi:// address for information about widevine version, update and so forth but I forgot.
-
@lamarca Yes, those demos work but, none the less, Amazon Music does not. What's the next step in resolving this? I'm not alone with this issue.

@x-15a2 Which videvine version do you have? Check
vivaldi://components

@Gwen-Dragon
Hi, at my system it is: Version: 4.10.1582.2
-
This is a unfixed and confirmed bug in Vivaldi.
Master bug: VB-55665 "Amazon Prime Music no longer supports Vivaldi"
-
@Gwen-Dragon
Thank you, noted.
Is it report as Windows bug?
It work on Linux but not with my default profile, I had to create a new one.
Really strange.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin I can see in bug tracker that all Amazon Prime Music bugs were reported for Windows.
On Linux the special libffmpeg is used and it may contain more abilities than the Windows codecs API.
-
-
@x-15a2 You have the latest version.
-
@x-15a2 I fear that is a bug in Vivaldi with some codec license missing or broken video format detection to use of Amazon Prime .Music
-
@Gwen-Dragon Thanks for looking into this further and for the info, I do appreciate it. Since users don't have read access to the bug tacking system, is it possible to share the priority that VB-55665 has been given?
Thanks!
-
@x-15a2 said in Still unable to stream from Amazon (Prime) Music:
priority that VB-55665 has been given
3» Major Loss of Function
-
Now that version 3 has been released, I'm wondering if there is, or soon will be new status on this bug (VB-55665).
Thanks
-
@x-15a2 Confirmed, no progress for a fix.
-
Thanks @Gwen-Dragon...
sigh
-
Hi.
Are there any news about the fix? I'm on the latest version of Vivaldi (3.2.1967.47 (Stable channel) (64-bit)) and still not able to stream from Amazon Music.
Hope this gets fix soon.
Thank you.

Status please? I am willing to do any helpful troubleshooting or testing, and I am sure that others are as well on VB-55665.
Thanks
