How to set a Policy for Vivaldi (GPO)
-
This is for experienced users. Changes in global settings, editing the registry of a OS is not for beginners!
Sometimes you have to set a Policy to enable/disable features or settings in Vivaldi – similar as you can in Chrome/Chromium.
A list of those policies (GPO) can be found at https://getadmx.com/?Category=VivaldiBrowserThese Policies exist for Windows, Mac and Linux.
On Windows these are set in Windows Registry, on Mac and Linux in a setting file.
The admin has to set a global policy for all users on the computers.
For the current user that can be done by the users themselves. Here can be read how to start*:
https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-templates
https://www.chromium.org/administrators/linux-quick-start
https://www.chromium.org/administrators/mac-quick-start
*you should be aware, that registry settings have to use the word Vivaldi instead of Chrome or Chromium)Please, if you have questions on special policies, open a separate thread to ask or search for existing posts on "GPO" or "policy" in Search of Forum.
I have not tested Policies on Linux and Mac for Vivaldi.
If you need more information or discussion create a extra thread where some users may help or i could ask a Vivaldi Mac or Linux developer.Good luck.
