Memory hog
-
I really love Vivalvi, but it is a memory hog as much as Chrome. I have UR browser and just on loading, without doing anything) UR clocks at 160 MB and Vivaldi at 640 mb. Please do something and fix this. It is absurd to have such a difference. Ur works very well, but I would prefer to keep on using VIvaldi.

@lapomelzi
Hi, Vivaldi team cant fix this may be the Chromium team can reduce it but there is really nothing to fix. Ram is there to use it, OS should manage this.
On Linux all possible is send to Ram to make your system faster.
Problem exist on < 2 GB systems but my mobile is on 4 GB an this is even small today.Cheers, mib

@lapomelzi How much RAM do you have installed? My 6-year old system has 8 Gbytes, so 640 Mbytes used by Vivaldi would not be a problem.

Abnormal resource usage might be restricted to the users settings (both OS and web Browser).
Does the Ram usage makes your computer slow down to crawl? If no, I can't see any problem. -
I've also noticed you have to give it a little bit of time to settle down, after hibernating. The other day a Vivaldi process was up over 2,400,000 K per Task Manager and my laptop was at it's wits' end, so I hibernated all the tabs, and it seemed nothing had happened. But when I looked again a little bit later, both the process and overall memory usage were down to normal levels. (Meanwhile I hadn't done anything else.)
I don't know how long it took exactly, or why it shows all the tabs as hibernated before the memory usage catches up, but give it a bit of time and it works great.
