TED videos not working
-
Flash works everywhere else fine, but here http://www.ted.com/talks/alan_eustace_i_leapt_from_the_stratosphere_here_s_how_i_did_it when I click play the area goes black, right clicking reveals flash is there, I can change settings and whatever, but video doesn't play.

It works for me. Are you running the most recent Vivaldi snapshot and the most recent version of Flash?

Try clearing your cookies, or at least deleting the cookies from ted.com.
If that doesn't help, try:
- Go to the Adobe Flash Player Website Storage Settings panel.
- Click "Delete all sites" (or just the one you're having trouble with).
Edit:
If that doesn't help:
- Try disabling any extensions to see if any of them are breaking Flash Player.
If that doesn't help:
- Try reinstalling Flash Player.

thank you but I had already tried all these suggestions
More information
Linux/Manjaro
Flash …..233
same situation with Opera which uses the same Flash installation, MLB.TV works fine, TED doesn't
Slimjet works fine but it comes with its won Flash version, an older one by the way .....209
it is not a firewall problem because FF, Opera 12.16 et cetera work fine with TED
How much I miss the days of Opera Presto when I had one and only browser on my PC and I never felt the need to try another one, let's hope Vivaldi will reach that level, but it's a long road.... -
I'm on Mint 17.2, and that seems to be the only major difference between our systems.
I have no idea what's breaking for you. I'd guess maybe you don't have PPAPI installed, but if it works on other websites, that's not the issue.
Maybe try starting Vivaldi from the terminal and see if that outputs any errors when you try to watch something on TED.

this is what I get starting a TED video from the terminal
ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(345)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process
[WARNING:flash/platform/pepper/pep_module.cpp(63)] SANDBOXED
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file -
Well, this output:
ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(345)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process [WARNING:flash/platform/pepper/pep_module.cpp(63)] SANDBOXED
is normal.
This output:
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
Is not normal.
To my recollection, I've never seen this error before. I did Google it, but that just seems to return countless unsolved threads in Chromium support forums. Because Vivaldi is based on Chromium, I am tempted to say it's a Chromium bug. Try downgrading Vivaldi to a version before Chromium was updated to version 45, to see you still get the error.

The videos are work for me. Also using the PPAPI Adobe Flash Player
