middle mouse button with speed dial
-
Hi, there is an annoying bug in newest Vivaldi (Win 2.9.1705.41). When you are in speed dial page and try to open bookmark (the speed dial tile) with MMB (to open it in new tab) you open the new tab AND scroll mode activates (like on any other occasion when you press MMB).
Is it a bug or feature?
If it is a feature is it possible to deactivate it? -
When reporting problems please include OS version because I can't confirm what is happening to you.
-
@bac It is a known bug that only appears if you have a scrollbar in the start page.
-
OS is W10 64 Pro.
With previous version (2.8.something) there was not a problem even with a scrollbar at the start page.
-
@Pesala Must be tricky to trigger then because I have a scrollbar in the Start Page and it's not happening.
-
It does this each and every time I use MMB at any speed dial tile.
-
But I can confirm when there is not a scrollbar present (different speed dial page) this issue is non existent.
-
I confirm this, OS is the same : W10 64 Pro.
-
No new version yet.
The bug is reported.
The bug is confirmed by several users here.Is there anything else I can do other than a downgrade?
-
@bac You can wait a day or two...
-
@Gwen-Dragon VB-59397. Confirmed, in progress.

Hi, any progress? Not sure if I do anything wrong but it says there is no new version.

Vivaldi 2.10.1745.21 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
Unfortunately the bug is still there.
I know I should not complain... Vivaldi is free... but it is more than a month. -
@bac there are bugs and feature requests awaiting since 5 years, keep calm and enjoy Vivaldi
-
I enjoy Vivaldi a lot and I am thankful for it. I truly believe Vivaldi is the second best browser there is, Presto based Opera will always be the best .
I have a big problem with frequent updates. I don't need new features but I need security updates. Thus I am forced to update. But each update contains not only security patches but new features with new bugs... why?!
I would be so happy if they release only minor security patches through the year. And maybe one a year fully tested new release with new features.
Truth be told this is all new software problem. Users are beta testers. And my biggest concern is when there is a new bug you are not able to downgrade without possibility of damaging profile data. That is just ridiculous.
For machinists there is a rule "if you can not make it precise, make it adjustable".
For programmers there should be something like "if you can not make a program without bugs at least make a downgrade safe and easy". -

if you can not make a program without bugs
nobody can

And that is why a downgrade possibility is so important.
