Delete Browsing Data fails for passwords
-
During maintenance in Windows Vivaldi, I used '/Tools/Delete browsing data' to clear everything, but it does not seem to work. Afterwards looking at Settings/Privacy, the old passwords remained. Deleted the Login Data file which resolves this issue. Just thought to mention it.

Which is also known as UI.
try this one and let us know if it worked as you expected:chrome://settings/clearBrowserData

Think that I've missed something. Why would the passwords still show after using the Tools menu option to delete them. "chrome://settings/clearBrowserData" shows no such option.

No, you haven't. Ctrl+Shift+Del is broken. Did you noticed Address Bar
-
@lamarca, Noticed that too, but tested it twice. Pasted
chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
(and this is the same paste I used to test and changed to vivaldi://). Could this be the end of days?Vivaldi 2.9.1705.41 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Revision ce637bfd730e6b2e549bf8def38f849e1a26bd3b OS Windows 10 OS Version 1809 (Build 17763.805) JavaScript V8 7.8.279.23 Flash (Disabled) User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/78.0.3904.99 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/2.9.1705.41 Command Line "C:\Users\ineuw\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe" --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end --disable-smooth-scrolling --save-page-as-mhtml Executable Path C:\Users\ineuw\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe Profile Path C:\Users\ineuw\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default
Go figure.

Not so fast.
The only way to activate the UI is manually, like we did.
-
@ineuw When you uses Clear Browser Data (ctrl+SHift+Del) and wanted to delete your passwords, which time range did you use for 'Delete Data for:'?
Did you had imported password/logins in the past?

Always use "All time".
. . . I have the following suggestion:
- I noticed this issue in Vivaldi on the dual boot Windows 10 desktop.
- Switching now going to test the same thing on Linux Mint 19.2 Vivaldi.
- Then, test it on the Windows 10 laptop.
Please bear with me until I post the results.

What can be done about it?

If you Delete Browsing Data!? I am irritated. When and where does this happen?

When I try to create or edit a post right here in the Vivaldi forum. I cannot create or edit anything. This applies to Windows and Linux.
I posted two separate issues one after another so that I don't post two unrelated issues in the same post. Someone made assumptions and combined them.

@lamarca This is what I needed to tweak my own issue as a new Vivaldi user. Played around with Settings>Privacy and did not work.
Perhaps make this option more obvious and accessed directly like Settings would make the user experience better?
Thanks for the tip.
