After upgrading to vivaldi-stable_2.9.1705.38-1_amd64, I get the following whenever I try to launch vivaldi:
$ vivaldi /usr/bin/vivaldi: line 50: 3517 Bus error rm -f "$HOME/.local/lib/vivaldi"/libffmpeg.so* Bus error
I checked, and there are no shared objects (i.e., libraries) at the suggested $HOME path
Going back to vivaldi-stable_2.8.1664.44-1_amd64 solves the issue..
Any clues about what could be the problem?
We have only one report about such issue in bugtracker and as i can see there may be a workaround.
Please read https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/41875/minor-update-2-for-vivaldi-2-9/17 and the reply from Vivaldi Team.
If you try and run this command in your terminal, what happens?
rm -f "$HOME/.local/lib/vivaldi"/libffmpeg.so*
I suspect nothing and the prompt just returns to the next line but I would be interested to have that confirmed either way
@Gwen-Dragon Doing the following fixed the issue:
$ sudo sed -i 's/^rm /# &/' /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi
Thanks a lot for the help provided.
