Crash after restart (restore session) if page with http-auth was opened last session

  • Getting Vivaldi crash if starting with session restoring (and if page with http-authorization was opened prevously). After several crashes Vivaldi starts without session (with only one speeddial tab) PS: Vivaldi 1.0.258.3 x64, Win10

  • Hello dronium,
I assume that you are using Vivaldi's built-in "restore", which is set up in Settings with "Startup with: Last session".
I cannot replicate the problem using Windows 7 x64 OS, either with 32-bit or 64-bit Vivaldi.

    My browser "About" shows:
    32-bit

  • I have exactly the same problem since one of the first snapshots of vivaldi:

    • The "last session" contains a page with http-auth (on HTTPS with restrictive cipher settings, i am not sure if this is important)
    • When starting vivaldi it crashes (clicking on reopen crashes it again)
    • Starting the browser after all windows messages have been closed loads an empty vivaldi and the last session is gone
    • When vivaldi is already started, opening the page with http-auth works fine, but on next (re)start of vivaldi everything crashes again

this is extremely annoying, since the http-auth protected site is my webmailer i need all the time. :S

  • this problem seems to be fixed now! funny thing is i didn't read in any changelogs about this problem…

    dronium can you confirm this?

  • Vivaldi Team

This should be fixed now, yes.
