Vivaldi Should Go With Its Own Name
-
Whatever i had knowledge, i got to know that vivaldi team is from opera team or opera browser team.
So vivaldi team wants to make their own identity.
Then why still vivaldi using chrome identity ?
All sites detects vivaldi browser as chrome, WHY ?
Chrome is google's part, are opera and vivaldi also google's part ?

Like most current browsers, Vivaldi is based on Chromium, Therefore it is quite possible that certain web pages identify it as Chrome, but this would happen the same with any other Chromium-based browser. This has nothing to do with having an identity of its own, which Vivaldi undoubtedly has, but in a deficient identification on the part of these pages. "Chromium engine, it must be Chrome"

@Catweazle The sites uses the useragent tag and vivaldi have these useragent tags : Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/75.0.3770.145 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/2.6.1566.49
I am using earlier version because the latest browser do not have vivaldi as an useragent tag.
My question is why sites are not taking the vivaldi name ?
Most important why vivaldi browser have to give so my names ?
Now chromium is written in c,c++,javascript then vivaldi should give the MAIN PART the writing part so the useragent tag should look like this : C,C++,JAVASCRIPT Browser.

Because many sites are coded in a way that can only detect major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge) from the user agent.

User agents this long is a way for a browser to say "I can do anything that all these browsers can do". Vivaldi does not identify as Firefox, Safari or Chrome. It only says that it can do the same things as those three.
And the reason why
Vivaldi/[VERSION]
is no longer part of the user agent is because way too many websites block Vivaldi because "your browser is outdated", even though Vivaldi works just fine on those websites. Basically, these sites look at the user agent and only accept ones that the developers guarantee are working (again, only major browsers). If they see Vivaldi, they spit it an "unsupported browser" error. -
@Komposten Or, in the worst scenario, they "try to send" corrupted layout/data.
Hope the list of "Vivaldi friendly" sites will grow (some sites, as startpage, duckduckgo and others still get the regular Vivaldi user agent) -
