This snapshot has an engine update, which brings with it changes to vivaldi://flags
Interesting New Flags
+#prefetch-privacy-changes (privacy buff)
+#happiness-tracking-surveys-for-desktop-demo (sounds creepy)
+#storage-access-api (interesting tech for web apps)
+#enable-removing-all-third-party-cookies (this looks like it will be a good way to clean up cookies without emptying all your logins)
+#dns-over-https (privacy buff)
+#profile-menu-revamp (affects vivaldi?)
+#password-leak-detection (HIBP?)Full changes to flags: https://www.diffchecker.com/5UzpZfcN
-
@lonm: Google has a new page to check if your password has leaked on the net, so I guess the flag is doing the same thing (HIBP, but by Google)
-
finally something new to test
-
Just a weirdness, after the update I had to re-hide all the extensions that were already hidden before, maybe it's due to chromium engine update?
EDIT: No it's really a new bug, all extensions are always shown on every restart -
@ian-coog: Thanks for the report, I can confirm the issue
-
on my "debian testing" this version stop to respond to click
i've be back to version 2.9.1675.11 -

@lonm: Yup, look out for VB-58390 in future snapshots

Settings search field is reset during search (VB-57943)
This still bugs, the first time the settings page is opened.
type something for example "sear", first the results gets filtered, suddenly it gets reset as nothing was typed. The search field is indeed not reset, but the result is bugged the same way. At least now one can continue typing and the result gets filtered correctly. -
@LonM ok thanks for the info, hopefully a quick new SS will be out in few days.
-
@ian-coog: Hm, not able to reproduce what you describe, works fine for me after the fix
-
@Aronand Probably depends on the speed of the PC, on this older Core2 2.80ghz it's really evident and slow.
I tested on my other win10 pc (quadcore 3.3ghz) and it's "flashing" faster but can see it clearly:
open settings page with alt-p (must be closed before);
type "gr" as quick as you can;
for a half second the result is filtered showing on top the Language and Window Background Image setting, but then suddenly resets as nothing was typed, showing again Startup on top.
EDIT: Ok, it happens only if I set Open Settings in a Tab, if set to open in a new window it doesn't happen. -
@lonm: I don't really get why Google removed "#enable-native-notifications," since they stated a year ago, when they first introduced the possibility of using OS notifications, that they wouldn't. It's unclear what's happening now, especially since not all OS's even support notifications (outside the browser). It would have been great to continue to use Chromium's own notifications.

It's good to see "Scrolling a page with the keyboard does not reliably work after initial page load VB-57533," which was one slated for the last release but pulled. Unless I'm misunderstanding it, it's meant to solve the issue where, on occasion, you find that a page cannot be scrolled with the keyboard unless you (maybe) click into the body of the page or even reload it and try again.

macOS users rejoice with the DRM fix! lol
Thanks Vivaldi team for the excellent browser

I installed snapshot 1692.4, but it does not run!
Then I went back to snapshot 1675.11, and then Vivaldi start working!
Something is wrong in the snapshot 1692.4. Please check and release the fixed update. -
@matsuda0707 works on both my Win7 (32bit) and Win10 (64bit) work PCs.
Where are you testing it? -
@iAN-CooG in linux I have the same problem
