But the bug that leads to the loss of the first tabs from the session fixed in this version?
-
@folgore101: No, or it would be listed tin the changelog. We are testing a fix now internally. Once we are happy with it we will consider it for another, future minor update.
-
@ruario Ok thanks.

Updated -
In versions of Vivaldi, the next one after 2.8.1657.8, the icons stopped appearing in front of the drop-down items in the submenu of the main menu, despite the fact that images for them are registered in the bundle .ls file (for example, the "snapshot" submenu in the "Tools" menu section).
-
@ruario: We'll call that one RC4 for short.
-
@rseiler Be happy you only have a few minor updates and not like the competitor 14(!) updates to a stable branch.
-
Since today's update it is even worse with the topic "Vivaldi deletes tabs on closing". If you close Vivaldi now and open it again later, you won't miss single tabs, but they will be shown many times. From the original 11 tabs, more than 50 tabs are displayed after a restart. We already had this with Vivaldi 2.3, see Forum Link:
I know that this problem was already sent to the developers as a bug:
I just wanted to point out that it has gotten much worse.
-
@stardepp In this update are no known updates to that issue included. I am confident that behind the scenes there's already testing of a fix is going on that will be rolled-out WIR (this week - fingers crossed).

Hello everyone (Hi)!
In my opinion, a serious error in the version Vivaldi.2.8.1664.36.x64 namely after closing the session (several cards: e.g. 18) after restarting the browser loses a large number of cards from the previous session - opens (restores) only three cards!
Do you want to do something about this error?
I get the impression that I have been unnecessarily tempted to Vivaldi. 2.8.1664.35.x64 and then Vivaldi.2.8.1664.36.x64.
In Vivaldi.2.7.1628.33.x64, it would seem that mostin the efficiency of the browser Vivaldi was fine except for the annoying opening of a new tab from a link from some pages (it did not set the default page size as defined by me - the user).
In my opinion, this is a mistake that should be corrected (corrected) immediately!
Please...
I am asking for this state of affairs!Forgive me my English ...
...I do not know English...
... and I use an online translator
With by the words of respect
(Yours faithfully)! -
@cieyou As I have written just before your note, a fix is being tested and will be rolled out WIR (when it's ready). Have patience.

Since this version, the Debian/Ubuntu package fails to install properly (VB-57958):
Setting up vivaldi-stable (2.8.1664.36-1) ... dpkg: error processing package vivaldi-stable (--configure): installed vivaldi-stable package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: vivaldi-stable E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
This messes up the apt update mechanism.
In the future, you could provide a snap package (e.g. like https://snapcraft.io/opera or https://snapcraft.io/firefox) or a flatpak version to not interfere with the system update mechanism.

@kahukura Yes, I'm very confident, because the Vivaldi team always does a good job.
And besides with... exactly one year ago tomorrow I discovered Vivaldi at Golem.de. It took me a while to find my way around Vivaldi, but Vivaldi has been my standard browser for about half a year and I enjoy using it every day.

OT: Welcome and glad you like it as much as I and many others do.
