My Vivaldi browser behaves really, really strange.

I've used lots of Vivaldi installs on my Win 7 machine, 32 bit, then 64 bit ... then upgraded to Win 10, installed the 32 bit version, then the 64 bit version. Each time I removed every trace of Vivaldi that I found. I've tried erasing all settings, I've tried launching the browser as a different user,... no matter -what- I do, my Vivaldi does not draw/render thumbnails in the speed dial, and no amount of middle-clicking on speed-dial items opens them as background-tabs! I can open any site link as a background-tab just fine. Just not on the speed dial. Days have come and gone, and while that thumbnail issue was explained to me, it was also said that rendering of thumbnails was broken for everyone. Now again, another new dev build has been released, and I updated. Still. No. Thumbnails. When was the last time I've seen this thing render proper thumbnails? It must have been like, in June! Since then I never got any. Will someone please try to figure this one out with me? I am at my wits end. Does Vivaldi load any DLLs provided by OTHER programs to generate thumbnails? Could it be that these are broken on my system, or something? I can't even begin to speculate why the browser refuses to see my middle-click as a middle-click on the speed dial, when it works everywhere else in the browser. Just what on earth...!

The middle click is supposed to open these pages in a new tab - without switching over to it, loading that in the background.
So …. you don't get any thumbnails as well?
