Twice the fun – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1664.26
-
@MattSolo45 I got delay from 5 to 10 secs.
That delay is a new issue in Speed Dial
-
@mib2berlin: And your only sync clients are this build. Nothing older (i.e. no stable and no Android)?
-
@rotfl: It would but there is no mobile client with this fix. Thus if you are using mobile you cannot see any improvement currently.
-
@ryofurue: They are all from unsplash and are freely usable. You can use the photographer link to find the image. Alternatively open the image in a new tab. Note its name and google on that.
-
@potmeklecbohdan: Open the image in a new tab. Note its name and google on that is quick if you can't quickly see it by the author link.
P.S. Since they are all unsplash they are all freely usable.
-
@chdsl: Better to use a package manager. I wrote this install script as a fallback for when there simply is no package. This is quite common for snapshots because distros generally do not track non-final/stable updates. As it happens Arch has a good solution for this in the form of the AUR.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vivaldi-snapshot/
So you would be better using that. I tried to make all this clear on the help page. See the message at the end:
-
@potmeklecbohdan: Also Arch? It is for Arch. People using it for Manjaro might be OK but it is not recommended
-
Just to be clear, the script works quite well IMHO (OK, I am biased since I wrote it) but I think most people would prefer to have the Vivaldi package as part of their normal packages, so all the standard distro tools can be used and updates and handled with everything else.
-
@ruario
your script is good for those running older/concervative OS like Debian which had no pepperflash-nonfree package yet.
Sorry wrong topic.

@ruario
Issue on Linux Debian:
Does not detect Flash anymore.
//EDIT: Updated bug VB-56840Vivaldi:about shows use of:
/home/test/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so
shell says:
[107:107:0917/131704.534465:ERROR:ppapi_thread.cc(315)] Failed to load Pepper module from /home/test/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so (error: /home/test/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so: cannot open shared object file: Operation not permitted)
Libs can be found at:
sudo find / -name libpepflashplayer* | xargs ls -al -rw------- 1 test test 18902624 Sep 17 13:10 /home/test/.config/google-chrome-beta/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so -rw------- 1 test test 18902624 Sep 17 13:09 /home/test/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so -rw------- 1 test test 18902624 Sep 17 13:10 /home/test/.config/google-chrome-unstable/PepperFlash/32.0.0.255/libpepflashplayer.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18902624 Sep 17 13:13 /usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/libpepflashplayer.so -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 18902624 Aug 27 03:07 /var/cache/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/libpepflashplayer.so
Removing the libpepflashplayer downloaded by Chrome and all works.
Now shell says:

Ah, thanks for the info. I did think it's primary for Manjaro because… because of the linked post.

Weird. I didn't find any post edited after the 12:03pm, when the topic has been locked.
