Lastpass

On my phone I've got:
- Autofill service enabled for KeePassDX, which works for the DuckDuckGo browser
- Accessibility service enabled for Bitwarden, which works with Vivaldi Snapshot
Other test conditions:
- Autofill service enabled for Bitwarden does not function
- The maker of KeePassDX rightfully refuses to implement the fallback route via the Accessibility service as browsers should make sure their Autofill sefvice should be made functional. (This includes Chrome)

@jane-n if there is anything that we can do to assist you and the team in solving this, then please let me know

Was bummed to see that this didn't make the cut in latest Android update. Without LastPass, I can't make this my main mobile browser.
-
This is getting very annoying.
-
New Vivaldi and looooong time LastPass user checking in. Like to many others here, its crucial to me to use LastPass on Android with my main browser.
Would love to see it implemented soon, I cannot use Vivaldi as a main browser like this for too much. -
Same here, new Vivaldi and long time Lastpass user. I would love to switch to Vivaldi on desktop and mobile, I really love it. But without Lastpass support I'll have to stick to Chrome.
-
Now I use Sticky Password, the only one that works for me on Android 9, I have previously tried Lastpass, Bitwarden and Zoho vault, none of these have worked.
-
I would love to hear an update on this as they have been in process for a while now.
I really enjoy the browser on my phone and tablet, but without LastPass it can't be my default browser there.
-
@anyveldt Vivaldi doesn't speculate on release dates. If something is marked as in progress, it's being worked on. There's a ton of stuff to do and very limited resources to do it with. That's pretty much the best update you can expect, only in rare instances or when something is nearly ready for release can you get detailed specifics. But it's in progress, so it is a priority relative to the numerous things that aren't. Vivaldi users get to practice developing their patience. For my part, I've always found my patience to be rewarded.

I'm new here to Vivaldi, may I chime in on this?
+1 to the requirement for LastPass on Vivaldi. This is a browser deal breaker for me if it doesn't happen.
Vivaldi looks at first glance to be a great browser, with great features and performance... but without LastPass? Useless to me.
thanks,

Well it is a pain but hardly a deal breaker. Copy paste from LastPass works just fine and takes only a few more seconds.
-
I'm loving vivaldi on the desktop but cannot fully adopt it until lastpass integration works across platforms, namely the android version at this point since the desktop extension is working perfectly well. I've tried again after almost every android app update.

LastPass has said that they don't currently support Vivaldi, so they won't even accept a bug report on the issue. I urge everyone who is having this issue to not just voice their woes here, but do so in the LastPass forum as well -- demonstrate to them that they have a broad & vocal userbase that wants this. The password managers that have worked with Vivaldi to resolve the issue are already working. If LastPass can be shown the error of their way, users are likely to see this issue resolved more quickly, and with less risk of breakage in future releases of either Vivaldi or LastPass. Without support from LastPass, Vivaldi will always have to do more work than they should to support it.
In the meantime...

... seems like a simple workaround. At least simple enough that I wouldn't let it stop me from using my preferred browser.

@dpn it's discussed in this very thread, just go back a page or so -- people mention which ones they're using and what, if any, settings are needed. I don't use a password manger. BitWarden is one I believe.
-
Any update on this? Or workaround for Lastpass? Its been too long.
-
I'd like a status update as well. (And a fix even more!)
Good to see it is "in progress".By force of habit I still sometimes tap the LastPass proposed credentials and then time and time again I'm surprised that I can't log in (since the login and pass used are those for this domain, vivaldi.com, regardless of what website I'm really on.)
No, copy pasting from the app is not always an acceptable work-around: there are some websites that automatically refresh whenever focus returns to the page. So after you pasted your login, when you come back with your password, the page refreshes and gone is the login. With a name as long as mine, that is annoying.
By now, I have most of the sites and apps I use on mobile also in Vivaldi's built in password manager. But one majorly negative consequence of that is that I no longer rotate those passwords as often as I did before.
So therefore Vivaldi has become a threat to (my) online security.
Think about that guys and gals. -

Think about that guys and gals.Actually, frequently changing your password for no reason other than being time-based is no longer recommended. Even LastPass recommends against this, instead these are the conditions for which they recommend changing your password:
- After a service discloses a security incident.
- There is evidence of unauthorized access to your account.
- There is evidence of malware or other compromise of your device.
- You shared access to an account with someone else and they no longer use the login.
- You logged in to the account on a shared or public computer (such as at a library or hotel).
- Itโs been a year or more since you last changed the password, especially if you donโt have multi-factor authentication enabled.
Note, the only time-based interval they recommend is once per year. This is probably something of a CYA hangover from all those years of recommending frequently password changes. NIST Guidelines only include event-based password change policies.
It's time to rethink your security protocols.

Nice sidetrack discussion. Mรชh.
Yet still there are Vivaldi users who are eagerly awaiting news from their favorite browser about its support for the Android Automatic Password Fill API so that it'll function more smoothly with their password manager of choice.
In my case that would be either Bitwarden or KeePassDX.
