Post 2.7 - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1649.4

@gwen-dragon: Okay I have done further testing and it would appear that this bug occurs ONLY when a specific extension is enabled. "Bazaarvoice Analytics Inspector"
The bug does not occur when it is disabled, however, this did not happen with the previous version of Vivaldi.
-
@gwen-dragon: For reference, this is the extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/bazaarvoice-analytics-ins/olmofcadoappjkcnnhomdlnpmpbleekd
I use it as part of my web dev toolset and is super useful for debugging purposes.

We need to know the Vivaldi version you are running.
Regarding extension, maybe the thread bellow can help you: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/8129/list-of-incompatible-extensions -

@starpaw You are welcome and thanks for the permlink. My suggestion is to start a thread (one per issue), just in case.

good morning
when zooming in on the page, hold down ctrl + mouse wheel. observe the scale numbers on the bottom right:
Experience 1- Twist once to increase, the numbers do not change.
- I twist to decrease once, the figure increases by 10%
Experience 2 - Twist once to increase, the numbers do not change.
- Once again to increase, change by 10%
- I twist to decrease once, the figure increases by 10%

Hello there,
The zoom are separated in two parts:
- UI Zoom - where you are changing
- WebPage Zoom
The number at the bottom is the page zoom, which can be set at Alt+P >> Webpages → Default Webpage Zoom
-
@valmont confirmed, it's still bugged since previous 2.7 snapshots. Ctrl-numpad * resets to the correct default both the zoom and the displayed value.

@ian-coog: I was very tempted to leave the 2.7 in this time as well so that people learn that for snapshots, it really does not matter.
-
@rotfl: It works fine here. In fact I am posting this with the 1649.4 snapshot on Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch), running on a Pi.
-
@rotfl: Not sure why you are having a problem now but you could try capturing a crashlog
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-crashes-on-linux/
P.S. Install the HTML5 proprietary media (MP4[H.264/AAC]) codecs and make your life better, when you get Vivaldi running again
-
This should be fixed, some users are running VMs for tests and development.
As do many internally, myself included.
@gwen-dragon: Are you aware of any other user who has encountered this problem. It is not enough simply to use VirtualBox, I can assure you of that.
-
Also worth trying to run it with a clean profile
vivaldi-snapshot --user-data-dir="$(mktemp -td vivaldi-test.XXXXXX)" &

Maybe you should only number stable releases and name snapshots like you did in the title for this blogpost, e.g.:
snapshot.1649.4

Although thinking about it I suppose it's useful to see the major version and branch when chasing up submitted bugs etc.
