though his [dLeon's] profile is still accessible

Actually it's a nice look at those nulls (& even some of his posts).

  • @potmeklecbohdan Actually, it's the homepage of the profile that's still accessible, and surprisingly and oddly, some posts are still visible.

  • @hlehyaric

I don't know how that is done. But probably it's not entirely automatized. Somebody maybe stays in charge for verifications. If that is true, possibly there was sensitivity with some contents, worthy to remain to the posterity 👁

  • @Steffie @JoaBravo Your messages made my day! This forum - in addition to all the tips & tricks & tech stuffs - can be paved with pearls of dignity, diamonds of humanity and blossoms of sweet spirit.
Treasures to pick up, trouvailles we can rejoice in, serendipity (😉 @Ayespy ) we can cherish.

  • @Ornorm OMZ, now my fav browser forum is also my one-stop-shop for all my jewellery needs -- kool.

    Vertical integration paradigm.

Here, my language says 'todos estamos no mesmo barco' (ou canoa). Which seems more expressive and appropriate. A rock is an expression of a very stable life, of very long existence.

When a vessel has occupants, it is usually on more or less deep water. Everything, people and situations, can disappear / change instantly. This gives us a better comparison with our lives and situations.

But, be it on the rocks or on the boats, union, universality, with great and long love between coexisting beings is a Divine status. It is certainly utopian thinking to suppose that it will come true one day. But dreaming is not forbidden.

I thank you for your unity with everyone, including me. Which leads me to your most meaningful post for my view: "To all non-native-english speakers here..."

I checked and realized, like visiting old buildings in ruins, everything is very severed. The last time I visited it, the views were between 25/30 thousand, maybe even more. But, what my heart and memories keep of it will hardly be erased.

@JoaBravo , "Todos estamos en el mismo barco" also in Spain and "Wir sitzen alle im selben Boot", also in German a frequent phrase, all with boats.

  • Moderator

@Catweazle "All in the same boat" is a colloquialism. "All on this same rock (planet)" is merely a realism. To explain it to a tiresome degree, earth is classified as a "rocky" planet, hence, rock, 3rd rock from the sun, etc.

  • @Ayespy

Thanks, master, once again and always. I put now "rock" on my father of the donkeys (Google translate), it doesn't give the meaning earth.

So, I think I am forgiven for my conception. How could I know, or suppose, about that meaning?

But, if rock may be also used within the metaphorical sense, then our "barco" and the same in Spanish are a more expressive way of saying. At least at my twisted understanding.

  • Moderator

@JoaBravo Your understanding is not twisted. This planet is the ship that bears us all through the cosmos on her decks (and under them). When talk is had concerning this world becoming unlivable and needing to find a "plan B" planet to which mankind can escape, what do we call the spacsehip(s) that might save some of the race? That's right. "Lifeboat."

  • - Ambassador -

@Ayespy , we have not yet understood that there is no plan B, we only behave as if there were, we continue to expose and pollute and we will make the planet uninhabitable long before we are able to save, even if they are only a few chosen, to a planet B.

  • @Catweazle It'll be alright soon, once my ISSPLP* infiltration & replacement plan reaches critical mass.

    Spoiler

    *interstellar shape-shifting purple lizard-people.

Otoh, if my plan fails, then we're all totally screwed.

@Catweazle To say nothing of the fact that there is no current window to any technology that would enable such a trip, with an elapsed travel time of less than several hundred years (assuming one could reach a velocity of, say a couple million miles/hr or 3M kph). I think it would be pretty optimistic to suppose that a lifeboat of any kind could hang together that long. It would have to be huge, to accommodate renewable systems to sustain life, and just imagine the millions of things that could go wrong. And then of course its components would be built by the lowest bidders, soooo...

  • If the solution will be keeping humanity alive physically within the conditions we have and are currently, realy the technology that can perform it, if existent, will not be from this dimension, neither will be developped here, in the ambit of the planet.

But that is considered from the perspective of saving humanity as coletivity.

For each individual, if that will be somehow done, their interest is to keep his / her own life. If humanhood survives and he / she is not among those, only will be significant for each individual if spiritual life exists. That is, if life is consciousness, and that, separated of the extinct physical body, reaches keep consciousness of being alive, in another way, within a different life expression.

If it is not so, if consciousness of life does not persist when physical body dies, what for serves to be so concerned, individually?

if life is consciousness, and that, separated of the extinct physical body

Now we're into metaphysics. I prefer to believe that will, volition, choice, decision are real, and that therefore, deterministic materialism is bunk, which of course would require that consciousness be, or stem from, something not physical. If its not physical, it would probably persist beyond bodily death and, for that matter exist prior to bodily birth.

All that said, I like my body, my family, my society, and my planet - and would prefer to think that my descendants could enjoy this synergy as well.

  • @Steffie
I'm just browsing these comments and listening to some music, your comment "We're all on the same rock. Nothing else should matter." and this track happened to coincide so I'll dedicate it to you, the title that is. Silly perhaps but it kind of fits.

  • @Rainspa Oh that is sweet, thank you!

Cool song! Quite apart from the lyrics, i also love anything pretty much if it has a pounding bass line, ha.

I would not put more sequencies here. That is going to an ambit where mind and its ressources would not reach... arrive...

But in your goal, you continue keep sharing and acting in physical happenings with your beloved ones mutually tied by blood.

That, after certain time elapsing, will not to the reach of your individual consciousness after your current physical body is guided to the general planetary reservoir, where there is not individual consciousness, only the total of the inert consciousness of the general existences.

For you to continue to be involved and acting with your goal, which is so loved and important for your being, it will be needed you to be within the spiritual consciousness, which, without physical body, is able to detect and go ahead accompanying, at the modes and conditions of your transformed way of being, that so darling synergy.

And so it will be what will happen, so God be served.

Forgive me this sequence in so clumsy English and wordy exposition.
