Vivaldi 2.7: Bring more productivity to your day
-
Quality update. Noticeable performance improvements on my end. Kudos!
-
Fantastic update, Mr Jon!
And i think they fixed the VB-54872 that i sent too! Now i can use my vivaldi normally again! Many Thanks! -
This is sweet! I'm loving how you are keeping a nice balance of new features and resurrecting Opera
(the good Opera, you know what I'm talking about)
-
Just add the this functionality already.. https://alternativeto.net/software/stay-open-menu/ ...they built it into Firefox after breaking all the really good addons, I mean at least they added one good thing into the default browser features.
-
@pathduck: Yes, it was getting annoying to manually enable it when a site requested it (due to changes in Chromium), though now I'm wondering if there was another way.
The improvement is called "Expose global setting for Flash player." Is that to say that there was an unexposed way of doing it in 2.6 globally?
-
Better and better, but still missing last one feature - video popup window like Opera have. Please incorporate
-
@izero Picture in Picture is already included. Right-click on any YouTube video will show the YouTube context menu, right-click again to see the Vivaldi menu where you can select Picture in Picture.
-
I think calling this function 'Picture in picture' is somewhat confusing
-
When have the Page Load Progress settings been introduced? I have just discovered them.
I love the Favicon Progress option.
-
@Nekomajin Less then six months ago in one Snapshot. The page progress is an easy way to check Vivaldi performance.
-
@Catweazle It has a long history Picture-in-Picture
-
Thanks for the release!
2 bugs that are still annoying me :- Vivaldi is still incompatible with Amazon Music for some reasons... (VB-56002)
- Saved passwords still cannot be used in pinned web site as web panel (VB-55906)
Hope they will be fixed in the future release.
-
Regarding Amazon Music, the Devs are working on this one.
-
Great release overall! Thanks.
Also, please relax the hardcoded max width of 260px for vertical tabs! It's really annoying on wide monitors these days... -
Thank you Vivaldi Team
since 1.8 -

On television, this denomination makes more sense, but not in a browser, where a video appears as a popup on top of a text on a web page. I think to call the function for example pop out video, floating video or similar, may be more understandable to the user

Is there any confirmation on the freeze issue, apparently fixed last week (see below)? I've seen some chatter around that it's still happening, at least on Windows. Of course, I suppose that there could be multiple, related bugs having to do with Ctrl+F and freezes.
Regression: Freeze in Find in Page (VB-55475)
-
A nice release, however I wish those 2 major bugs (Windows) would have been fixed as well, as they are pretty significant:
a) .pdf opened in the background not being loaded (VB-51691) and
b) pinned tabs being lost after a browser re-launch when "Startup" is set to "Homepage/Start Page", (don't remember the VB), used to be working right until v2.6 which broke it. -
@npro
I can confirm the PDF issue. Very frustrating.
