Make the search section in addess bar drop-down optional
One can search with enter so this is in practice always one keystroke more than necessary. (When using a keyboard, it has its uses with a mouse so it makes sense to keep it.)

I agree. If there's a match in history or favourites it should show them first. Then if nothing matches, it should search with the default search engine.
Having it there as an option is nice for those that don't understand how it works, but it is definitely a little annoying when it could be more streamlined.

The way Chrome handles it is quite sensible. It's there as the top suggestion just like in Vivaldi but it's already selected (which tells me "this is what you'll get if you hit enter now") and when you press the down arrow for the first time you get the first autocomplete suggestion as we'd like. It works for mouse users too!
