Select which UI animations to disable

Currently I see only one global switch to enable/disable animations. However, I like to have a favicon spinner enabled in Tabs, so I can clearly see which tab is still loading and the tab progress bar is sometimes not enough Disabling animations also disabled the spinner. If it is possible to keep the spinner without all other animations, please advise.
