All gone after crash
-
After having a computer freeze and forced turn off, Vivaldi lost all the user settings. I clicked on delete user and it shows tens of thousands of things a part of the user but none are showing up...like favorites or history. Is there a magical way to make them reappear? I can restore the computer to a past backup but would rather not do so.

@topcat7736 To be clear: Do you mean that the profile is present (that you can delete it), but none of it showing up in vivaldi?
Are there any other profiles - maybe one you've switched to by accident?
-
@LonM
Yes. The current profile could be deleted but contains all the information. No other user is present.

@topcat7736 That's very strange.
- When you say that you can't see any bookmarks - do you see anything at all in
vivaldi://bookmarks/
. - For history, if you go to
vivaldi://settings/privacy/
what value is "Save Browsing History" set to?

We see newly imported chrome bookmarks which we thought might correct the problem. All the Vivaldi things are MIA.

Hello there,
In case you need backup some of your files, here is the list from Vivaldi Help Pages (F1).
Although is not Vivaldi issue, keep in tough. -
@lamarca
Thank you lamarca. It probably would have helped. The computer was turned off and when we turned it back on, Vivaldi did an update to 2.6.1566.49 and it looks like a clean install so I'm assuming it wiped everything out which was on the machine. This computer was not using sync which will be rectified on the others very shortly.

@topcat7736 Normally updates shouldn't touch a profile. If it happens again, maybe there's a bug there, so let us know.

I have seen a expressive number of topics about "after" update issues.
