Bookmark smart folders (saved searches)

  • It is very useful that Vivaldi has tags for bookmarks. It is much more efficient to tag bookmarks (so they can be associated with many categories) rather than put them in folders. However, in order to find tagged bookmarks later, it is helpful to be able to save searches for bookmarks. Firefox does this perfectly with the Smart Folder feature. You can save bookmark searches as dynamic folders that find all the bookmarks automatically. Then, when you want to go find your bookmarks, you don't have to sit there and remember all your tags; you can just go look at your list of saved searches (Smart Folders). Please implement this feature in Vivaldi.

  • There is no tag support for bookmarks (that I can readily find, anyway) in the current version of Vivaldi.

Please see my thoughts regarding this issue at:

If tags become supported (or even if Description is the permanent replacement for tags), then in order to find tagged/described bookmarks later, it is helpful to be able to save searches for bookmarks.

If you think a feature is useful and missing in Vivaldi, please make a request.

How to make a feature request for Vivaldi
If you think your problem can be solved by a missing feature, please add a request at https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/48/features-requests in the corresponding thread for your browser version.
Add one line in bold as a short title for the feature and 2-3 lines to describe the wanted feature.
