You are right on the mark. With equipment unused for awhile, one must disable the Vivaldi sync, delete all bookmarks and log back in sync. There will be no old/deleted bookmarks and will keep syncing properly. The same may apply to notes as well. Synch will not duplicate matching passwords.
Yes but it continues to happen on all my normal devices too, even after using that old device just one time and deleting all the duplicates. They just come back again and again and again...
Strangely, it seems to have stopped after I mentioned it yesterday. Weird.

All was fine earlier today. Now I get this message when starting Vivaldi. Logging out and logging in again, or restarting Vivaldi do not help. The server status says that sync is operational. I am using the latest Snapshot.

What is unclear to me is what we should do now?
- sit and wait for a snapshot to arrive
- wait for news that the sync issue has been fixed otherwise,
- OR go through a reset of sync data on the server?

@s_paternotte Resetting sync using one of my snapshot installs broke it for all other Vivaldi installs, so I wouldn't do that.
I don't know if resetting from a stable will help - I might try some time.

@mossman reset sync does not help a 4.1 snapshot to get sync back.

Sync is currently not working. I am using the latest Snapshot. Vivaldi Status claims that it is operational.

@pesala Oh, yes. Hangs after Login to sync in Initialisation.
After a while i got encryption password field and typed.
Some errors in vivaldi://sync-internals now. After restart of Vivaldi all was nice. -

Yes, last sync was a hour ago.
I guess the new Vivaldi 5.1 update takes a lot of syncing activities.
