Add new bookmark to bottom of folder instead of top when drag & dropping
-
Hey everyone, would it be possible to have the option to add new bookmarks to the bottom of a folder instead of the top when drag & dropping (be it in the bookmark bar or in the bookmark panel)?
Really odd that's not a default option. Didn't see the request either, except for an old thread that didn't address the drag & drop issue specifically. It has nothing to do with sort order, I'm sorting manually.
Also, CTRL+D doesn't use the last folder where you drag & dropped a bookmark, which would be a great QoL feature too.
These 2 features are supported by most other Chromium browsers as far as I know.
Thanks!

The reason is that if new bookmarks were at the bottom of a long list in a folder they might not be visible on opening the folder.
If the folder is already open in the Bookmarks Panel, then you can drag and drop new bookmarks anywhere that you want. However, with the Bookmarks Bar, one can only drop them onto the folder, then open the folder to drag them into any position.
If you want new bookmarks at the bottom, you can use Sort by Date Created.

@Pesala On the flip side you could say that the reason all other browsers do this exactly the opposite way (new bookmarks go to the bottom) is that it's natural for most users to have arranged the 'most' used bookmarks on top. So, if every single new bookmark moves ALL other bookmarks down, that just makes things too tedious for the user to keep their favorite bookmarks on top. The default 'should' be at the bottom so that every new bookmark doesn't disturb the entire bookmark folder.
The reason you stated IMO doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the above reason, and this just seems like something that got overlooked by the devs.
If they make this an option, it would be ideal.
