(MoonDaugh) If these trends spread among users, we can have a new fad

  • Please, see editions I have made yesterday on my post.
What a happy action I had when copying the image of the beloved dog to my personal files. Sixth Sense.

It all started when I clicked on the existing link, now scrawled by editing. This link was broken.

It pointed to a @slake post on the topic created by @MoonDawg, about pets and what those animals would be doing at that moment. This post had the image of the "dog's untranslatable stare". Dog owned by Slake, which caused me a sudden and profound affectionate attraction.

This led me to a search whose answer I was already aware of. I went just to confirm.

@MoonDawg seems to have adopted the same attitude as @Quinca71. Withdrawal. As happened with Quinca71, Vivaldi maintained his profile, filled only with precarious remaining data.

MoonDawg is an important user to me, and some time ago, I and some of my companions were intensely involved to keep him as our colleague and friend on those forums.

Lack of him and several of his publications. Personally, the one about pets and one other about incredible landscapes not far from where the posters live / lived.

    A remarkable lack.

  • @JoaBravo I did notice @MoonDawg was less active since a few months. He was such a great contributor to the life of the forum (creating funny topics, sharing ideas, etc.).
As you write, a remarkable lack. The same remarkable lack we noticed with the disappearance of @Quinca71 (the phoenix).
I'm afraid we're loosing, with the choice he made, a part of the sweet craziness I adored and that, as per my opinion, might be suffocating.
Other users I appreciate are less active and I miss them as well as some "coups de gueule" (out-cry? rant?) of the past.
Nostalgia, please don't pervade my soul 😉

  • I did notice too @MoonDawg was less active, particularly in some threads (e.g. Word play - 5 letter) where he was once a prominent contributor. We will miss him. We will miss his threads (Art Gallery, for example).
Maybe it's just a temporary retirement. He was quite involved with Vivaldi, promoting the store …etc…. Perhaps there is hope that he will return under a new guise.

  • Hello JoaBravo and Everyone and MoonDawg

Some treasured memory of mine. :
My original encounter with moondawg was on that instant shout box blog roll thingie of a previous forum software feature. moondawg gave to me some of my first reputation point; maybe even the first. ... oh, if I got that wrong I do not want to offend or disappoint the member that remembers being a primary donor, so correction here if you were the first I welcome a reminder, please.
moondawg exchanged ideas, images, puzzles, songs, help, fought spammers, and has always been a positive provocative presence in the forum. happy trails coyote ...

  • @i_ri

For my current state of soul, first the prank. We have here a way of saying and a proverb.

1-"O primeiro beijo a gente nunca esquece".
2-"Não há luar como o de janeiro nem amor como o primeiro".
The second valued by the rhyme, in my tongue.

    Meaning, at an unaccurate translation:
1-"The first kiss: we never forget".
2-"There is no moonlight like on January nor love like the first"

Possibly I will retake later more seriously.

    @Quinca71 (the phoenix).

Vixe!!! (+ or less = wow, damn!) - A "trouvaille"! "Dommage" it didn't occur to me when I did create a new username. 😜

I always did forebode some the aspecsts you point out about MoonDawg.

But, with me, all the time after the "return", he have understood my way of being, studying and acutely perceiving.
Gave approval (and upvotes!) in some rare interventions I had had about more technical themes.
Sensitively adhering to the more subjective ones, the great majority in my case, staying on them. He, practically, exhausted the subject.

  • @hlehyaric

I think his topic with greater "audience" was "Nothing but (sick) jokes". I believe my ineffable memory did give me the exact title. @Catweazle will probably be the most affected for losing the topic. 🙁

He may being now as JoaBravo at begining. Caché, nascosto, oculto = hidden. Maybe ready to "sprout" under another nickname. Or, maybe, he may reactivate the precarious profile Viv is keeping.

I was just a little surprised, when I did not find this thread after my absence.
I think that some humor should not be missing in a forum, even if it is a technical forum like this one.
Now that Vivaldi is 'almost' perfect and stable there will be more and more people who are connected by this great community itself.
Naturally it continues to be a forum to help new users, to find solutions to some other problem of Vivaldi or to demand that in the future be able to make us breakfast, but we can not allow the vast majority of users, who are going the navigator wonderfully well, is going to get bored and leaves this community to find no more sense in it than passively read of new versions or read the Blog.
During the time I use Vivaldi I have also seen one of the most friendly and active forums of all existing on the internet, it would be sad that this is lost. Threads are substitutable but the community of a forum is not, if this remains in a mere attention to the client, as there are sadly so many

  • Hello JBravo
hi Catweazle. do not be sad. After a cheer and bravo MoonDawg, bravo JoaBravo for owning this thread, interfere inject here not attempt to hijack but in the spirit of MoonDawg share as before
What is the biggest lie of the 21st century?

If people would, Google, FB and Twitter have already disappeared for a long time

  • He actually didn't reactivate his profile. I think this may be possible talking to the team, starting from zero and going ahead, losing all behind. But seems he won't.

Sometimes I wonder if by chance he has not already come back under another nick, and is "nascosto".

Then, as an exercice of perception, I and all interested can try do an examination in posts done from the time he was gone, I believe that mainly at "chit-chat", games, other in which he was more frequent , "sniffing" his style, checking the date of joining of the publisher, and... who knows?

    "Scintilant", don't? 🤓

  • But, If from this a discovery results, a sensitive attitude from the part of who would discover: feel if @Moondawg do not prefer nowadays the anonymity and the hiding place.
