Developer tools debug does not respond to click
steelunicorn last edited by Gwen-Dragon
Developer’s tools stop responding to mouse clicks after the script has stopped at a breakpoint.

I have a report for this in the bug tracker, but for version 2.2. Which version of Vivaldi are you on?
I tried to reproduce on 2.5.1525.48 Windows 10 x64 and could not see that mouse clicks stops working.
On some complex jQuery scripts the browser gets slower but always reacts.
Please give us a test case and some steps to reproduce your issue.
I can reperoduce that issue in 2.6.1581.5 Snapshot and 2.6.1566.40 Stable.
And for me the mouse does not react anymore if i switch to an other tab.
This known bug VB-54268 "Docked dev tools unresponsive to cursor interactions on breakpoint hit"
I updated the bug report and pinged a developer, i hope for a quick fix.

Sorry for long absence.
My Vivaldi is:
Vivaldi 2.7.1587.4 (Официальная сборка) (64 бит)
ОС Windows 10 OS Version 1809 (Build 17763.557)
Also did a clean install of
Vivaldi 2.6.1566.44 (Stable channel) (64 бит)
and got exactly same bug with dev tools.
The not-working developer tools in docked mode (after reaching a breakpoint) is a ugly bug preventing debugging extensions and JS on websites. Not nice.
But works with undocked dev tools window.

Could you tell us if there is any progress on this? At the moment this bug makes Vivaldi literally useless for me!
Thanks for your work!
@ladz Sorry, no progress yet.
And I miss a working dev tool for my JS programming in my office

@Gwen-Dragon is there any work being done on this one?
It makes the devtools unusable unfortunately.
@tehnicaorg No, unfortunately no progress on this freeze issue.

+1 fix request.
I switched to vivaldi as a main browser, but have to open chrome more and more last days.
Can I somehow speedup the fix? Upvote the bug report, or anything
@shakavin I already pinged someone from Vivaldi team yesterday to check some Developer Tools issues.

Any updates on this?
I was following this thread, but since no more feedback was provided I decided to let you know that I am also facing this issue.
I am a web developer and it's very annoying I cannot debug my applications with docked devtools.
I am running on Linux Mint and my Vivaldi version is 2.6.1566.44 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
@joselcvarela Yes, i can confirm the issue on Linux.

Did anyone checked that, in my case if i am having a debug enalbled in one window, the other window's click also does not work.
@vidukapoor A known and reported bug in 2.7.1609.4 Snasphot.
Oh, and in 2.6.1566.49 Stable!
Developer Tools in Vivaldi completely unusable for Web and JS Development with missing breakpoints
If you need to debug use Chromium.

I would think dev team would debug on Vivaldi itself...seems I'm wrong.
Developer tools seem always as a second thought (long time until we got a stable docked dev tools). There are more and more issues creeping up on developer tools. Randomly crashing Vivaldi on opening it, resume on main window does not work, Dev tools not responding...
Its a shame, I think that Vivaldi is used by lot of developers and not just general power users. This persons can recommend to others, but with this kind of thing it makes it difficult.
