Say NO to Chrome extensions

  • Vivaldi if you want to allow extensions for the time being please come up with something to utilize the Opera extensions like Yandex. Google's extensions are very limited especially media grabbing not to mention some of us hate the Google brand and websites with a passion. Opera did everything right in the extensions department and has a good list for us all. There's a reason Yandex linked up to it too so maybe you should move away from Chrome extensions. Some of us detest censorship and restrictions, not forgetting Vivaldi is an idea somewhat based on our style of thinking.

  • You can already use opera extensions. Just go to their add-ons page, find your extension, click "add to opera" and then in the pop-up on "just get it anyway". Will download it to your standard folder, where you rename the .nex suffix to .crx; drop it onto vivaldi extension page and it will hopefully work. Extensions which mainly rely on an action button in the address bar obviously won't.

That's good to know, thank you sir

  • Thank you very much for sharing. I am going to try your suggestion in a minute. It looks really good.

It is this kind of sharing of solutions - rather than dwelling on shortcomings, that will continue to help Vivaldi grow and get better.

    Thanks for the tip !

Of course these are Chr-Opera extensions, right ?

So are they technologically superior to those from the Google site, or just more politically correct ? ;)

Excluding the specific ones (like the sidebar extensions) they are the same.
