Toggle UI fails in fullscreen

  • Problem

Vivaldi toggle UI works correctly in windowed mode, but fails to do anything any longer in full screen mode. This used to work, but appears to have regressed. Tested on multiple user profiles and multiple systems.

    Steps to replicate

    1. In windowed mode, press ctrl-F11 to toggle the UI elements and observe them working.
    2. Press F11 to enter fullscreen mode.
    3. Press ctrl-F11 to toggle the UI elements and observe nothing happening

  • @catalystchrisweeks It might be an intentional change.

The Ctrl+F11 command does do something in fullscreen mode, but you will not see the result until you exist fullscreen. It is the same with the command to hide the tab bar.

Why do you need the Title bar in Fullscreen mode as opposed to just using Toggle UI?

  • Ctrl+F11 is the hotkey for Toggle UI (when setting hotkeys to defaults). It is particularly useful to be able to toggle (enable) the UI in fullscreen mode on laptops with limited screen size, to see the tab bar, location bar and buttons for forward/back/home and extensions.

@Pesala thanks for taking the time to reply, but the post doesn't suggest I am trying to enable the title bar, but to toggle (enable) the UI, which you also seem to suggest as the solution in your post without realising that is what my question was about.

The reason for this post is this feature used to work and recent version updates have caused regression. It works on other operating systems (ie. MacOS and Windows) and used to work on Linux (hence trying to attract support from Vivaldi in their forum).
