Save image to folder with double right click Gesture
-
So i found some people requesting similar things as i do here, in this threads :
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24375/shortcuts-and-gestures-to-save-images
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24375/shortcuts-and-gestures-to-save-imagesThis threads or post are requesting for a "quick way or gesture to save pictures into a previouslly selected folder without the save dialog open", in other words people would like "to save images quick with a gesture".
I would like the same but USING DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK (when hovering above a picture), in fact i believe @Vivaldi-Webbrowser should implement this and letting us chose whichever gesture we want for this being ctrl + right click or alt + right click.
But the things this feature should have are the following:
-
Being able to chose a folder to Download, and then being able to change this folder at will.
-
Being able to Download the picture automatically, not opening the "save picture dialog", i want to be able to Double Right Click and save the picture to a destination without the save dialog opening.
-
Change and customize the "gesture" or "hotkeys combination" to save the pictures to whatever i want, or between options that are popular like the ones requested above.
EXTRA: Maybe have more than one gesture, meaning that "ctrl + right click" would save to my pictures folder, and "Double right click" would save to another folder or sub folder.
I am very sorry, i could have probably just commented inside any of those threads requesting similar features, but for me personally the "double right click" gesture is a must have. I am using @Vivaldi-Webbrowser as my main browser for one month now and i am glad i dropped Firefox, but one of the features that is miss is this...i used to be able to do this with Firefox Addons that dont work now on the new browser.
Also i understand there are a lot of other feature request for the Gesture "DOUBLE RIGHT CLICK" like opening an incognito tab or closing a tab, i have even read that people would like to "pin tabs" with this gesture, i know nothing about programming or software design but it seems feasible to have all of this implement as well??.
Thank you so much for reading.

@hyfrehyfre So that I understand - is your request really two separate requests?
- A command to save an image (similar to "Open in new tab (over a link)" commands that exist right now, but to act when "over an image")
- A new gesture involving a double-right click

Correct friend,
One is for being able to send, open links and tabs in a different monitor or Vivaldi window; and the other one is to use Double Right Click to quick save an image without opening the save dialog window.
Thank you for replying, the reason that i created another thread for this despite there being 2 others is that i would hate Vivaldi Team to implement a quick save using something like ctrl + right click and NOT the double right click gesture, which is honestly something everybody should experience, is a life changing feature believe it or not to be able to save images with Double right click....it fells so natural, im sure all browsers in the future will have this, or middle mouse click. something done with one hand.
The other thread i created because there are no similar requests to that one in particular, and that is another thing that is nice to experience as a user. I understand that you can send tabs to another Vivaldo Windows but is so nice to right click a link and send it also instead of opening it as a tab then sending it which is a extra step.
Thank you for your time.

@hyfrehyfre OK. I understand.
All these kinds of actions (e.g. saving images) are stored as "commands" and can then be assigned to any gesture or shortcut.
In this case, this request should focus on the creation of a new double-click gesture.
This way if/when the other request about saving images via a click gets implemented, then it could be assigned to the double-click gesture, as an assignable command will have to have been made as well.

@e7777z777 Opera 12.18 uses Ctrl+Click on Images to Save Them. I think it is easier than a gesture, but it does need the keyboard to be used too.
Vote for the first post if you haven't already done so. (Voting again will remove your vote).

I would love to have a gesture or Ctrl+click like in Opera to save an image quickly, right click and menu is painful

Hi, Unfortunately the developers have decided to mark this request as "Will not do", which means this request won't be implemented in Vivaldi.
