Good afternoon. For some reason, nothing works for me. I installed the script, installed Css, but it didnโt work. None of the topics work. What to do with the render class diagram? Help me to understand ( 2.9.1719.3 ).
-
I tried installing on a clean shell. And it works. The problem was with a different script. :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:

Diagram of render classes:
I have a question about installation. is it necessary to install the "Diagram of render classes:" and if so where?
-
I have often successfully adopted modifications for myself. So I did the same for "Mask for the address bar", see screenshots. But the URL remains as before. What did I do wrong?

@stardepp The
js
part seems to work, Iย think you just forgot to copy over thecss
code. -
@stardepp I don't think so. The diagram is just to explain a bit how the mod classes works. It's a sort of manual.
-
@luetage Ok, I copied the Mask for the address bar .css into the common.css and saved it, but the URL still does not change.
-
@stardepp The mod seems to work in your picture above, it just isnโt styled. Make sure you got the
css
referenced if you made a new file for it, restart browser, etc. I tested the mod again yesterday, therefore I can assure you it works on latest Vivaldi. -
@stardepp
The issue is probably the spaces in theย ย ย Edit: With spaces actually still works. Guess onlyjs
file name.css
files have this issue...Try:
Mask-for-the-address-bar.js
And for installing the
css
, I recommend not pasting it incommon.css
. If you follow the step I gave in this post, then you can makecss
mods that survive browser updates. Then you just need to worry about patching in thejs
mods. -
@nomadic Okay, thanks, but what exactly am I supposed to take over from here?:
I changed the mask-for-the-address-bar.js
-
Until now I had to reinstall my .css modifications after each Vivaldi update. I would be very interested in a permanent solution. Does it work with this? And if so, how?
vivaldi://settings/appearance/
-
@stardepp No, as you still would have to hook the js part via browser.html
If you only use css, the native way (screen above) works. -
@Hadden89 Ok, thank you, what exactly do I have to insert into browser.html?
-
So I can leave my Mask for the address bar.css entry in common.css like this and just need to add something to browser.html?
-
This post is deleted! -
@stardepp You can try to load the CSS part with native way (UI modifications) and the JS part as the other mods.
But you still need to reinstall the js part every Vivaldi update.
I still use the "old" method for this exact reason. I didn't switched to the native way as it don't hook js yet.
Avoid using common.css. Any mod have to be applied on custom.css (or other names you choose).
