Adding search (via right-click)
-
When I do so, a window pops up, but when trying to save the settings (exact addrees, keyword, etc) it, nothing happens. Also in the options, there is Tools > Settings > Search, but there is a blank field only. Am I right, that adding a search engines is not yet possible? Best Wishes

You can add search engines - Tools > Settings > Search > Add New Search Engine but they don't appear in the right-click menu yet.
Context Menu Search works meanwhile. -

Context Menu Search works meanwhile.No Sir, that is not possible. Under Tools > Settings > Search there is a blank page only.
That's with Vivaldi 1.0.228.3, 32bit, Win7.
Thank you. -
@Gwen-Dragon:
They don't appear in the context menu yet. Thats not implemented (and known issue) at this time, but will come.
I think, it's a misunderstanding. I don't look for search engines to choose from, but for the ability to add them, at all. I am fine with using address bar with keywords. But using address bar for search isn't possible, either.
Great to hear it will also be choosable from context menu.
Thank you. -

Try with a clean install, something got corrupt on your profile. That's common when using Technical Previews or nightlies. Programmers are more concerned on changing stuff and forget about migrating/converting old settings to new.

You are right. A fresh install did it. Then I moved some of the old profile data I want to keep- bam the blank-search-field issue is back. I guess, I have to figure it out file by file. Thank you !
