Native window title

  • Is that coming in the future? It's very useful as you can see long titles at glance, as seen below. And what about an actual loading information? Chur.

  • Well, considering the fact that it's Chromium-based and that not even Chrome or Chromium support native shell for the Windows Classic theme, I'd say no. But it Would be nice if Vivaldi acted like Chrome and Opera when Windows Aero is used, thus making the Vivaldi windows look transparent, seamless and consistent with the rest of the Windows OS. As it seems it looks more consistent on both Linux and Mac OS at this point, sadly. Theme support will be a welcome feature as well.

Personally, I don't mind how an application looks, as long as it works perfectly, so I'd suggest the Vivaldi team to focus on performance and usability at this point rather than eye candy.

  • Try the Chromless UI mode (Ctrl F11). That shows the full title in the Windows Title Bar, but not if the menu is displayed.

I'm always for function over form, so while looks consistency is nice, it's very low on my wishlist, if at all :P . But you say that yourself in the last paragraph.

Doesn't show it on my end and actually it doesn't show almost anything (tabs, menu, etc). That's the opposite of what I'm looking for :D

Using Vivaldi 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit here. This is the current tab in Chromeless UI mode:

  • You would have saved some time if you read my earlier post:

  • Huh. Right, I mislead that. Oh well, thanks.
