      Hi all,

My Windows PC died recently, so I replaced it with a MacBook Air. I know for a fact that I had turned on Sync in my PC (there was always the cloud icon on the bottom left), but when I logged into my Vivaldi account and decrypted, etc. and hit Apply Changes, none of my bookmarks, custom browser themes, etc. appeared. I checked vivaldi://sync-internals and it looks like nothing was saved from before I logged in on my Mac.

Did I accidentally overwrite my old data by saving the data on this browser or something? From the way it's discussed in the Help makes it seem like the data from both browsers is merged. I found a few threads about glitches with Sync, but that was in the testing phase. Is there still a problem with Sync on MacOS?

      Hello there,

The cloud at the bottom is part of the UI.

If Sync is enabled, you'll see at tab About

@lamarca In case it wasn't clear, Sync has always been on. I logged in through the Sync page in Vivaldi Settings and decrypted. It wasn't until my old browser settings did not appear that I checked Sync Internals and made sure that Sync Feature Enabled was true. It has never been false.

I did not click the Reset Remote Data button at any point because I am aware of what that button does and I don't want my data erased. I was wondering if there was another way to have my old data deleted automatically instead of manually clicking that button.

I have gone through the other tabs in Sync Internals and I can't find any indication that any actions were taken before I logged into Vivaldi on my Mac. Even though I set up my account and Synced in my PC, for some reason the only suggestion I have been using Vivaldi for more than a day or two when I have been using the browser through this account for two years is an email from Vivaldi that was dated May 9th. I'm looking for a way of importing the settings/data from my PC into my Mac because there is no sign of that in spite of the Sync option being turned on.

@idakao It wasn't clear for me neither. Sync should work as it intended. Please, have a look at this article. If everything fails, report a Bug. You will be given a number, please post it here for our follow up.
