@enc0re said in Stabilization starts for 2.5 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1525.30:
VB-52616
Confirmed by me.

@ytsma Please do report your issue.
Read how to Report a bug for Vivaldi carefully and then report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.
-
@rseiler: They are still considered regressions internally, but, we already know about them, and would rather hear about any new regressions ofc
-
I've got a weird one:
-
Restart Vivaldi
-
Focus the address bar
-
Hit "cursor down", the visited link history will popup
-
Hit "cursor down" one again, the first entry will be selected
-
Every other "cursor down" will alternate the selection of the first entry, not go to the next entries in the list
Some unknown action in the address bar will fix the buggy behavior, until Vivaldi's next restart.

Is it possible to have both developer & stable version installed on the same computer sharing the same "default" folder?
-
@O_Love Confirmed for Win 10 x64.
Please read how to Report a bug for Vivaldi carefully and then report the bug to Vivaldi bugtracker.

@nutcracker It's best to avoid sharing a profile. Different versions have different ways of storing data and having two versions access at the same time could lead to corrupting your data.
-
@nutcracker When the internal Chromium major versions differ. That often leads to issues with broken settings or wierd browser behavior if you share profile between Stable and Snapshot. I had seen such in the past while testing profiles.

NO!!! Absolutely, do not do that! There is an excellent chance that you'll corrupt the profile by switching back and forth. It's like downgrading to a previous version of Vivaldi -- don't do it.

I tested also the search field on speed dial and found the same bugs, and one more, reported
Summary: Search field on Speed Dial bugs
Key: VB-52643- Enable search field on Speed dial
- double click on the down arrow icon for Show search history
the Add bookmark to speed dial window appear as when double clicking on background
All the keyboard bugs present in the search field next to the address field are reproducible in the speed dial search field.
- mouse clicking the search engine icon make the list appear but doesn't disappear
- cursor down doesn't make the search engine list to appear
- shift down make the history dropdown to appear but it's not navigable with cursor keys, only tab/shift tab; same goes for search suggestions list when typing part of the search terms.
- search suggestions don't fill whole width, but are truncated halfway with "..."
- tab on history entry #2, search field shows entry #1
- esc doesn't make the dropdown to close
- shift-del doesn't delete highlighted entry.

[Regression] Download “save as” and “open” just save in default location VB-51913
"Saving image as..." saves automatically, no questions asked.

@jacekn Thanks. FYI, this is also a known issue and a fix is currently in the works. (VB-52467)
-
@nutcracker You can always install standalone versions. By installing standalone versions you can then test multiple set-ups. Some with extensions, some without. Some sync enabled, some not. Play around with different settings. I could go on but you get the idea.
FYI, some forum members have a bunch of standalone set-ups both snapshot and stable versions. I'm sure some even have multiple snapshot set-ups. Some have multiple stable set-ups. Me? I have a couple of snapshot and one stable. And one naked/virgin snapshot with only two extensions with very minimal performance impact.
-
@para-noid: Thank you and everybody else. As instructed, I'm not sharing profiles - instead I'm installing the stable version in standalone mode. Thanks again.
-
@nutcracker That's how I have it...
-
@xyzzy It's much better to enable sync.
-
@Para-Noid All of my many, many installs are synced.

This blog entry's stock photo is the same that gave Opera Coast it's initial visual ID… Good old…

Any plans to fix download capability in web panels? This has been a long running issue with Vivaldi with no fix in sight.
