This is a feature request regarding the ability to move toolbar buttons since version 2.4. I expect we will be able to move them anywhere in the address and status bar eventually, but I want to make a suggestion to create another droptarget toolbar as dropdown for the address bar. This overflow dropdown should have a button in the address bar with which we can toggle it (visible/hidden) and we should be able to move any button to it, including extensions.

Here a quick mockup (actually one failed attempt at creating the overflow dropdown myself as custom modification…)

The dropdown toggle is placed between profile image and extension toggle, below is the overflow dropdown with just 1 button.

Anyway, I think this would be helpful, considering we will potentially have more and more buttons/functionalities as Vivaldi matures and the address bar's size is finite. Personally I look forward to putting statusbar buttons in such an overflow dropdown, but anything should go!! cheers

And what about moving it? 😛

I hate to necro a thread but it's been over a year and this seems like a very useful feature for maintaining a clean / well-organized browser which is almost required in this day and age with all of the hundred thousand things you encounter on a daily basis.

I like the request but only 8 user vote for it in one Year and some vote post 2 and 3 what not count as vote. May be your wake up the dead gets it some more votes. furious

      Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin These days you can use the status bar as overflow dropdown, since moving buttons between status‐ and addressbar works with the mod. To me this request is outdated, but it still wouldn’t hurt to get it native.

I like the page action overflow menu in Firefox. So many useful features, which I don't use often, but when I do, I like to access them with a single click.

Now that the V menu can be customized, it can be done more or less, but I would prefer three separate overflow areas for page actions, browser actions and extensions. I accept that many people like to use menus for their contextual and/or organized structure, but it's more intuitive for me.
