Autocomplete with just the domain part, not full URL
-
If I type "y" in the address bar, it gets autocompleted with the full URL of some YouTube video I watched some time ago:
youtube.com/watch?v=...
I think it makes sense to autocomplete frequently visited sites with just the domain part,
youtube.com
in this case, and/or include the domain part of frequently visited sites in dropdown list. -
I think it could be interesting to still offer the full URLs in the autocomplete selection box. But I also agree that the first option should be for a clean URL. Or at least have an option to make it so...

IMO the key here is sorting.
There should be some switch to choose strategy: "base address" / "MRU" / etc... -
This is my largest pet-peeve at the moment with Vivaldi. At 99.9% of the time, I just want to go to bing.com and not bing.com/some/past/search/from/long/ago.
This would be a huge improvement to the address bar.

I have the same issue.
Typing
y
in the search bar will auto complete to a full video url (youtube.com/watch?v=oDAw7vW7H0c
) and not to justyoutube.com
.I've tested Safari, Chrome and Firefox and none of them have the same issue.
This is driving me mad
I've seen various bug reports reporting this issue from several years ago. Is this truly being fixed?

@guisim
Hi, may I donΒ΄t understand correctly but full URL is always shown for me:Check if "Show full address" is enabled in the address bar settings.
Cheers, mib

This is about autocomplete
if I type the lettery
in your address/search bar, I expect Vivaldi to suggestyoutube.com
.
This is not the case. Vivaldi will suggest a complete URL to a specific video, not the root domain.Vivaldi:
This behavior is unique to Vivaldi.
Chrome:
Safari:
Firefox:
I would like Vivaldi to behave like very other browser here.
