Entire browser disappears; video keeps running
-
Twice, while I was playing a video in a tab, the entire browser disappeared from the screen. The sound from the video kept playing. I could not revive the browser either from the taskbar or from the desktop icon. I invoked ctrl-alt'-del to get to the task manager. The application did not show up at all in the ":applications" tab. The processes tab showed all running Vivaldi tabs. The URL on which this occurred is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNMjKAQN5oM&feature=share

Known problem reported a gazillion times.
Problem lies mostly with Flash, I have disabled Flash on my installation long time ago and since then no crashes.

I went through the same event once.
I'm dumbfounded from the answers promoting dodging real issue!
Typical solution here:
- "My leg aches me in thigh, what to do?"
- "Take a cleaver or a saw and you'll get rid of the problem. Keep at hand first aid kit if something went wrong."
Another tactics of yours:
- "… it's not me, it's him, catch the robber! - screamed the culprit."
What the heck is going on on this forum? :woohoo: :woohoo:
Vivaldi going hide away leaving working all processes is a SERIOUS BUG not a petty ailment.
That way started behaving Opera Forum few years ago adding to the bad state of Opera affairs a censorship of common sense comments which were done by some moron moderators.
You like "cat and mouse catch" play? Again?

"Serious" bugs should be reported at the bug wizard site: https://vivaldi.com/bugreport/ , as described in the sticky-thread at the top of this forum's index.
When you instead post into this forum, you're more likely to get user responses that either confirm or challenge the problem's occurrence or that attempt to tell you ways of working around an already-identified problem (given the current Tech Preview, unfinished status of the browser)… and both response types occurred in this thread. There's nothing "going on" in this forum except what ordinarily would go on with any browser 'helps' forum that also has a separate site for the bug-reporting itself. The Vivaldi browser is still being designed and improved, so a variety of problems still occur with it and will continue to, until the developers get them fixed.
