Vivaldi won't open
-
Hi community! I started to have this problem this morning...yesterday Vivaldi was working properly, but after I woke up and tried to open it, it just starts the process "vivaldi-bin" but the browser never really shows up...I reinstalled it but that didn't fix the problem. Nothing, absolutely nothing changed from yesterday (like 7 hours ago) from now, but it just doens't work anymore Starting it from the terminal doens't show any information at all. If there's anything I can add to help, let me know. And sorry if there's something wrong with my english :p

Kill all vivaldi processes and try to delete the files current session/current tabs and last session/last tabs from your user profile.

Thanks for the welcome n.n
I logged in again to be sure I don't miss any processes. After that, I searched for any session/tab-related folder and files in ".vivaldi" and ".vivaldi-snapshot" and deleted current tabs, current session, old tabs, old session and everything inside the folder "Session storage", but the problem isn't gone
I'm not used to Vivaldi's files, so I may have missed something to delete maybe…thanks for your replies -
did you try to launch vivaldi from a terminal ?
Any meaningful error there?
P.S. remember that Cr44 requires at least a 3.17 kernel (or an older kernel with backported patches)

The latest couple of vivaldi stanpshots are based on Cr44 (older ones are based on Cr41)

As you can see in my first post I already tried starting it from the terminal and nothing happens, not even a single output…
And I already used Vivaldi on this computer, so I don't think it's a compatibility problem...
Thanks again for replying -

Sorry, I missed the first message when I replied.
So it's really wierd.
The only thing I can suggest is to rename the whole profile folder and, if that works, to re-add the relevant files in a second moment.

I have a similar problem:
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/polish/3932-vivaldi-snapszot-1-0-209-3-1
Linux Mint -
I'm also on Linux Mint (Debian Edition, 32bit) and get the same message as lemari in the terminal, but before that it says six times
getrlimit(RLIMIT_NOFILE) failed
I was in the menu under the encryption sign in the address bar, which blinked red because some certificate on twitter was weak or something. When I clicked on "Website-Properties" (or similar, mine speaks German), Vivaldi crashed and now it won't start again.

Kill all vivaldi processes and try to delete the files current session/current tabs and previous sessions/previous tabs from your user profile.
I tried this and it actually worked. For me the latter couple was named last session/last tabs, not previous. In .config/vivaldi-snaphot/Default/
So, problem solved, thanks.
Keep up the excellent work everybody! The recent update that made the back/forward mouse buttons work was in particular greatly appreciated.
edit: For what it's worth, the encryption symbol is now green again for twitter.com

You're welcome!
P.S. thanks for pointing out to the correct naming, I wrote too quickly.

I tried renaming even the whole vivaldi and vivaldi-snapshot folder to see if starting Vivaldi from the terminal gives me some output but nothing…I don't know what to do anymore...
-
Ok, I found the solution…After reinstalling it and not solving the problem I deleted every vivaldi-related files and folders and then reinstalled. It worked.
Thanks everyone for the replies! -

Installed Beta 3 today and it doesn`t open at all. All I have is a minimized window on the taskbar. Starting it from the terminal I see the following errors:
