Japanese IME errors on Gmail - IME input unusable
-
Vivaldi: 2.4.1488.4 (Official Build) (64-bit)
OS: Windows 10 OS Build 17134.648Recently I've been having issues with Japanese IME on Gmail. When attempting to compose or reply to an email, I often run into an issue where I am unable to change from Roman characters into Japanese as it seems that Vivaldi is reporting the input areas as incompatible with IME. Restarting Vivaldi usually, but not always, fixes the problem.
I just upgraded to the latest version of Vivaldi (above listed build) and now am getting a different sort of bug. I am able to switch into Japanese IME in Gmail compose and reply inputs. However, IME is not functioning inline, but at a "system" level (the selection box is to the very left and not immediately below typed text). Furthermore, the text I am typing does not appear in the compose/reply windows - just in the IME selection. Even after selecting an input the text will not appear in compose.
I do work in Japanese on a daily basis and Vivaldi is my browser of choice. With this bug going I simply cannot rely on Vivaldi. Please find a fix ASAP.

@globalnomad This sounds like a serious snapshot regression. I don't have Gmail to test with (and the issue doesn't seem to happen on the forum), but it would be worth making a bug report, and then noting this bug report in the main snapshot thread, as other people may be able to test it there.
For information on how to report a bug, see this URL: https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-a-bug-in-vivaldi/

@LonM Thanks for the reply - sorry for not getting back sooner, apparently my email notification settings are off.
I just updated to the latest Snapshot (2.4.1488.26 (Official Build) (64-bit)) and it made mention of IME getting disabled after hibernation in the change log. This could have very well be what I was experiencing and a quick check seems to verify IME is working now!
