Status bar Clock
-
Opera 12 had possibility to show Clock in the Status bar. It would be welcome had this also in the Vivaldi.
-
Since we are in the process of customizing the interface, let's make it possible to put it anywhere.
-
What was the clock like in Opera 12? Did it show different world times, did it show UTC, or was it configurable – eg you could set an alarm? Because I don't really see a reason for a normal clock. Linux, Windows and macOS all feature a system time clock in the menu bar on the desktop.
Of course it doesn't hurt either, I'm not against it. Just trying to understand what the point of the Opera clock was back then. Can't really find info about it online.

@luetage Opera's watch was just a watch. Is convenient when you have set the Windows taskbar to be displayed only on demand.
I expect Vivaldi to do a lot more, like alarm and pop-ups every hour, like the extension i'm using now. Orologio di Chrome

I'm all for this.
But no overkill - just a clock, no alarms, calendar or other faff. Just a way to tell the time.
And a proper 24 hours clock, not that useless AM/PM stuff -
A basic 24 hour clock would be good enough for me, but it would be attractive to more users if it had some options:
- 12 hour am/pm mode
- Timer mode to count in milliseconds
- Countdown mode with alarm
- Font size selection.

There is a watch for Vivaldi:

What I cannot figure out is...what's wrong with the clock in the system tray?
You can add a clock(s) via the Chrome Web Store. Some of the clocks offered in the
web store can do a variety of functions. Many of which can be tailored to suit the users needs. -

It is invisible when the Windows taskbar is set to autohide.
It would be better to have a built-in clock/timer than to rely on extensions.

The same could be said about Vivaldi, when it's minimized or closed then you cant see the clock. IMHO the system tray clock is good enough because it can be easily revealed by mouseover the taskbar.

@dude99 That's a ridiculous argument.
The OP does not wish to move the mouse to the edge of the window or press the window key just to know the time. They want it to be visible in Vivaldi as it is in Opera 12.
I would put it on the Address Bar because I sometimes hide the Status Bar to save precious vertical space on my landscape monitor.
