Bookmarks bar context menu support – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1483.4

@newscpq said in Bookmarks bar context menu support – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1483.4:
- open http://www.ansa.it/sito/videogallery/italia/2018/06/07/ruby-ter-fadil-il-rispetto-e-finito-8-anni-sono-tanti_4cb1c3fc-2277-4c02-8d71-ca7ccefe306f.html
- click "ALLOW", when prompted to play Flash animations
- wait for the page reload, to complete
- you'll see that the video is not played and that the Flash icon in the status bar will become a "one way" sign, by its' own
- flash animation will not start
The same page works perfectly with snapshot 1476.4.
anyone confirms?
Yes, as stated I can confirm. Strangely though, seemes to be only that page?? Click any of the other links on that site and then flash does work.
However, at step 2, do not click the site "allow flash" prompt - click on the site info icon in the address bar (before the url) and select "site settings" - if you allow flash here (using Vivaldi settings) it works.

is it a reported bug, that the download panel isn't open although option is activated?
Win7 -
@Gwen-Dragon I tried it with the guest profile and now with another fresh profile, happend with both
reported: VB-50842 -
@Gwen-Dragon don't know, I don't have the stable branch installed. It worked until the last (or the last two) snapshot. eventually a problem with new chrome version?

@Folgore101 This one:
Left! click on the folder in the Bookmark Bar, and the 1st entry is Add Active Tab. This is still available in Snapshot 2.4.1468.4mf
-
@Mikefield They should let the "Add Active Tab" entry back on the Bookmarks bar. It would be consistent with how the bookmarks menu works.
Right-clicking to find the entry there is not immediately obvious to users unless they are aware of it, inconsistent with the bookmarks menu, and simply not intuitive.
I guess a couple of guys complained it was "too far" to move their mouse to get to the bookmarks, so they just removed it for everyone...
-
Notifications are still coming out light on my screen when using a dark skin and dark mode on windows 10. I use vivaldi on my other laptop and the notifications ARE dark so there is some inconsistency going on here.
-
last features I'm waiting for in vivaldi is rss and vpn
If you could make smart rss extension work in vivaldi, that's just as good and probably save you guys time developing your own rss -
@Pathduck Yes. Those who complain the loudest get the most attention here.
Add active tab should be replaced at the top of the menu to be consistent with Opera.
That should be the default. In due course, we should get the option to edit the menus, then those who wish can remove it.

2.4.1483.4
When I click "more bookmarks" >> on right side of bookmarks bar, it opens out of bounds.
xfce/debian. So, they are not visible when browser is maximised. This happens only on this version. 1440x900

We really need an option to lock speed dials in place. I really don't see why they shift positions when moving a single pixel. Please add this function. It seems so standard to include it. I will keep asking.
-
Since 2.4.1483.4 Snapshot 64-bit, none of my extension buttons work when I left click on them.
The right click still works. -
What is this?
It's on YT, after clicking, theres only OK and Change that do nothing. -
@Gregor I reported this as bug VB-50904
-
@Dypsis This is a bug in the current snapshot and will be fixed. For now, you need to un-hide any hidden ones first.
Please try to keep snapshot discussion within the current thread, thanks. https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/35464/bookmarks-bar-context-menu-support-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-1483-4/103

I don't have any hidden.
This thread title is very deceiving as there is no problem with my Bookmarks Bar. -
@Dypsis The thread title is not deceptive. It is the thread announcing a new snapshot, and it mentions the chief feature the new snapshot is introducing.
Being the new snapshot thread, one of its purposes is to alert developers to things that got broken (regressions) that should be addressed before the new version moves to Stable. Your problem with extensions is one such. That's probably why it was moved here - not because extensions have anything to do with the bookmark bar, but because it's a problem that should be fixed in the Snapshots before 2.4 goes Stable.
