Cool Things About Vivaldi?
-
I'm new to this whole Vivaldi thing and hope to make this my main browser over Chrome (and new to a lot of these pertaining to web browsers like encoding, text rendering, and browser engines, etc.). What are some of the cool/useful features you all have used with Vivaldi? I ask because I believe it would be best to ask the people who have actually used this browser even somewhat extensively. :cheer: Thanks everyone!

Things that I have found cool so far are vertical tabs, tab stacking, tab pinning, tab tiling, zoomable UI, bookmarks bar I can have just favicons on, the ability to have hierarchical folders in speed dial, beginnings of a customizable interface (move toolbars here and there, turn then on or off, different UI colors, etc.), notes, recent tab recovery, adjustable address and search bar size, customizable shortcuts, ability to adjust it to my old habitual horizontal workflow, etc.
AND, all of the above without installing one single extension.

The coolest thing is that when you use Vivaldi You are in charge, you are the boss, not viceversa.
Vivaldi asks if yow want to download a file, where to download it, if you want to download and install an update, and so on.
The same behavior is true for the development team, they are here to listen your opinion, your suggestions, your comments

For me, vertical tabs which is a deal-breaker and essential from the old Opera. And the many features we can expect as Vivaldi matures, such as save and load sessions (not implemented yet).

Apart from "hierarchical folders in speed dial" and "tabs colorization", almost every feature you have mentioned already available in Opera 12 right out of the box ! Opera 12 is extremely customizable. So for me other than "hierarchical folders in speed dial" there is not much to say. In fact I am bit disappointed with Vivaldi slow speed be it startup or general UI navigation (this is what I see on my machine). Different hardware configuration, different ISP will surely give a different user experience.
I am hoping that the final version would take care of many issues and will come out smoothly to give a different user experience.
Thanks
