Control Tab Stacks even more and sync Bookmarks Bar โ Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1462.4
-
Apparently Vivaldi thinks I'm a cupcake.
-
- Moving grouped tabs to new window still not maximized.
- Moving grouped tabs to other window still not placing it at the end but at the beginning of tabs.
-
I agree! Thanks for this fix!
-
All is well except for...settings still not completely synced.
For some strange reason my extensions were not synced.
Tab handling getting much better.Still waiting for total control of toolbar/bookmarks bar editing.
Still waiting for option to edit menus.edit: Spoke too soon. Extensions were synced. Took longer than usual.

@Nekomajin Here:
It's a new feature that offers easy access to the chrome profile management.

@aronand: Wouldn't it have been better to say "crash" than "freeze" though? Because the freeze iteration of the problem was an earlier one that you declared fixed some weeks ago. The one plaguing 2.3 (and, I guess, 2.4) was a crash, according to everything that I've seen and many other reports. I hope it's back-ported soon, whatever it's called.

@Para-Noid Extensions sync is not complete yet, I fear.

My guess is that's what was written in that specific bugreport. Most of the times bugs lead to Undefined Behaviour. For some could cause a freeze, for others a tab crash but leaving the browser working, for some a total crash of the executable.

Regression: address bar dropdown while typing partial urls now doesn't show anymore the urls but 2 times the url description on the same line

Great stuff, I 've set it to "fast"
Looks like tab stacks and tab management are steadily getting the treatment they deserve, keep up the good work 'cause many requests are waiting down the line (especially... my line Do not close tab group popup after closing a tab & Close tabs by middle-click on thumbnail )
Also I always forget to write about this: Thank you & @Aronand for implementing this request in the commands:

@Hadden89 FWIW, in the past my extensions were synced. All my extensions ended up being synced. Will edit my post above to indicate syncing took place as it should.
-
@Para-Noid Nice to know that works

Hopefully the crashes are fixed. I sent a bunch of crash dumps a few days ago.
The settings window still doesn't remember it's previous position, it instead always opens on the right side of the browser. This was introduced in the previous 2.3 branch. It works fine in 2.2 and older. I've reported it as

Is this CPU utilization normal?
(in the video below, I am just watching the screen)
I am still experiencing lag and performance issues.

@sjudenim So far the crashes seem to be fixed. At least none so far. FYI, this is a fresh/clean standalone install and not an update. Everything bright and shiny new.

@gwen-dragon:I have 18 tabs open. Newspapers, magazines, weather, forums, currency, outlook
Extensions: uBlock Origin, Chrome UA Spoofer, Super Simple AutoRefresh, Ghostery, Notifier for OutlookI have tried with a clean profile, no extensions, standalone installation of stable... same problem.

Awesome -- I was waiting for a fix for the search in page crashes!
And the experiments page is very interesting, I hope more interesting features will come there to test for those of use bold enough to go where none have gone before
